Matthew Head

When Matt Head returns from injury, one would assume he will go straight back into our top side. With Farah at halfback and Morris at hooker working so well, what would people think of the following:

7. Farah
9. Morris

14. Head

when Morris has to come off for his breather, Head slots into halfback and Farah goes back to hooker. Morris at hooker is a better defensive option for the early stages, and when Head comes on it gives us more flamboyance. It worked really well for the Saints in 2006 during the finals.

Thoughts?

What makes you think he will go straight back into the first grade team ?

Sheensy has done nothing but bag him all year, given him minimal opportunitys plus we certainly havent made him an offer for next year as yet which i guess gives you an indication of how he is regarded at the club.

Im not so sure he is our best half back option to be honest, apart from his kicking game he really doesnt add enough to the game. Dont get me wrong i would be fine with his selection, i just dont think its in Sheensys plans... i could be totally wrong though i aint no mind reader hahaha !

He was on the sideline talking with Sheens at the end of the match last week... No reason to think there's any bad blood between them other than the hearsay and conjecture that gets thrown about in an online forum... If he's fit, and Farah is still handling himself reasonably well at halfback, I see no reason why Head wouldn't be considered at 14. Even Sheens would have to agree that minimal disruption to the side at this end of the season is needed, so a major overhaul of the backline is unlikely. (Wonder if I'll have to eat these words...)

I doubt it will happen. Sheens would be more inclined to have a back on the bench, so if morris goes off, Farah goes to hooker, and Benji goes to half with halatau or fulton moving to five eighth, purely for defensive reasons until morris gets back on.

Im not actually convinced he is injured hahaha
Well I did think it was strange that Head's expected time out is "Indefinite" while all our other injured players have the week they are expected back next to their name :-k

It is difficult to determine how long players are sidelined with a heartlidge injury.

IMO Head was ordinary b4 he got his whatever injury, and I agreed with Sheens' assessment of his performances.

His kicking game was as bad as everyone elses and he wasnt tackling.

No loss at all and it wouldnt surprise if he didnt come back to the side.

Head was made to look more ordinary due to:

a) Our forwards being injured
b) Sheens picking second rowers and centres as props
c) Picking a mediocre bench with no impact

People are kidding themselves if they think Farah @ 7 and Morris @ 9 is going to get us over the line when it comes to the crunch.

i cant wait until we get spanked by one of these teams in the final four rounds (and we will) and people start calling for farahs head from halfback.

farah is a good halfback but a great hooker, morris is a sh*t halfback and an average hooker.

against sides like souths, the bulldogs and the dragons we will get away with playing him there, however if people think we will beat a top 8 team with this combo then they are sadly mistaken.

You didnt offer those excuses for morris when he was half. Head was average at best, his kicking was terrible.

I dont think Farah is a great halfback a all, but he is doign a much better job then Mat Head did at any point this season.

John Morris is a sh*t halfback but is a fantastic hooker, he has been either the top tackler or the second top tackler each week since moving to hooker, been making meters and getting the ball to the right player at the right time so i cant ask much more of him... but your right Farah is the best hooker we have.

I really dont think you will see us get smacked in any of our last 4 games, i think the boys have hit form, they playing as a group and playing well, sure they might loose a game but they wont get killed.

What about his inept kicking game???.....i spose that was the forwards fault as well.

His long kicking game was average, but short kicking game was excellent, IMO. How many repeat sets did we earn when he was in the side?

You didnt offer those excuses for morris when he was half. Head was average at best, his kicking was terrible.

That's because Morris is an oxygen thief and has proven to be absolute rubbish with or without a forward pack. And if Head's kicking was terrible then what would you classify Morris' as?

Morris is not a "fantastic" hooker. He is an absolutely mediocre halfback and an average hooker. Anyone can scoot from dummy half off a quick play the ball. He does not engage the markers and doesn't always get our forwards over the advantage line. His passing from dummy half is hit and miss as well.

Farah moving to #7 is simply covering for inept recruitment, again. We've beaten a park Bulldogs side, Souffs and a Dragons side missing half their forward pack. Just put that into perspective.

hahaha personally i think your completely wrong about Morris's dummy half play but thats just my opinion, your dead right about his halfback play though he was without doubt the worst halfback i have ever seen and its simple he didnt have a kicking game at all hahaha but then again he has never been a halfback so i cant lay the blame totally on him, he was shoved into that position by coaching staff.

The bag Morris bandwagon its so first half of the season hahahahaha
