I've always rated him and was excited when we signed him, despite his injury issues.

He's quality. His passing and kicking is top notch. Just needs to develop his running game, but that will come with more games.

What would you Dragons fans consider to be his biggest weakness?

His main weakness would probably be his defence. Other than that, I reckon that at his best times with us he was without doubt the best Saints halfback since Goldthorpe. I've found myself watching more Tigpies games lately just to see how the little champ goes.

As Hollywood Dragon stated earlier in the thread, Soward and Head together would be a premiership winning halves combination.

A player doesn't become un-injured just because he changes clubs.

There seems to be a misconception that Head wasn't wanted at Saints.

On the contrary he played some great matches for Saints when he wasn't carrying injuries.

i agree, i have some great memories of Matty Head, the guy s a class act when he is 100%. Have made an effort to have a look at his progress this year and seems he is doing well. Anyone remember that Anzac game he won for us? Pretty sure it was him, awesome win that one

It's great to see that the Dragons supporters still follow him.

I hope Sheens signs Head on a good long term contract, Its the first time we have got a good halves combination in a long time.

I always believed that head would eventually become SOO calibre, then after about 18months he really hit the wall with injuries that frustrated all involved.

Sort of bitter sweet that he may be able to further his career in the next few seasons..

Good luck to ya heady, just not against us hey. Take care buddy.

Matty Head looks to be getting back to his best after today's performance for the Tigers. Champion little player this guy with a massive heart and good attitude.

Still aggrivates me we gave him away, we should have stuck with him!

Really could give our team some direction, if the soft forwards could pull their finger out.

Travisty, and another great blunder through our recruitment and retention processes.

Great to see him do well, I hope he continues his form. But it still cuts deep, very deep.

Matt head WOULD NOT make first grade at the dragons..
who would you drop...

Hornby??
Soward???
Morris???

i dont think so..

Soward and Head as a combo could be potentially exciting, but neither of them have a really top notch organising game yet, so it would be a bit of a rabble in attack I think. Ben Hornby in the halves has really helped us play a bit more of a direct style of football - he normally knows where the ball needs to go for us to make metres, and Soward can put that flashy brilliance on to break the line.

I hope Mat Head goes really well at the Tigers, really shows the spirit of the bloke to knock back the big money in England and come back here to prove his doubters wrong.

In his short career at the Dragons, Head provided a stack of great highlights. Top player but can see reasons why the Dragons cut him. He did miss alot of games.

Great to see him bounce back. At the start of the season I said that Benji and Head will be the best halves combination. They are now going to prove my theory correct. Farrar at 9 and Hodges at 1. THey have the crucial spots covered well the Tigers if they stay fit. Sheens is a champion coach and has the best eye for talent.

Dragons v Tigers Grand FInal............I wish.
