I've heard sufficient rumours he's not gonna be with us in 2010 and beyond... regardless of the validity of those rumours and despite the crap he's copped in the latter years he's spent at the Bulldogs, I wanted to give kudos to him for his service to the club.

Matt was instrumental along with Baa in getting the Bulls to hold aloft the NSW Cup this year, and in his performances in first grade since his debut in 2002, he always gave 100% IMO, even when shifted to utility hooker in the debacle of 2008.

And who'll ever forget that fugging awesome try against the Roosters in 2003?

To boot, he was always a professional clubman. During both the 2004 premiership lap of honour and this years NSW Cup lap of honour, I distinctly remember he made sure he shook everyone's hand as he walked around.

If indeed you are leaving Matty, thanks for the memories mate - all the best for whatever lies ahead.

He helped us win the Grand Final in 2004. His tries were awesome. first one he caught a pass from Ryan and bolted to the line, no one caught him. Second try he had to battle the attention of 3 players to stay in the field of play and put the ball down, and he did just that. He's been a gun player. All the best in your future Matty, and thanks for your years of service to the club.

Will never forget his barnstorming runs and trademark tries that he used to score. He has given us good service over many years and i wish him all the best in the future.

yeah good on ya matt. Shame his form and confidence declined over the years, at the peak of his powers he was like a cult figure to many fans.

Will definitely miss the pocket rocket. Having Utai was like having an extra forward, considering the amount of metres he could make.

Totally agree Timmah. Regardless of form or perceived deficiencies, this guy is a champ.

Watching that try gave me goose bumps. Not many could have scored that and none could have done it so easily. Great pass from Sherwin too!

There was a bloke in my bay who was wearing a Dogs jersey during the NSW Cup game and he wouldn't stop going on about how good Bankstown were.

Then came the Parra/Storm game and he was wearing an Eels jersey and leading the Parra chants. WTF :?

Lol I saw him as well. He was wearing a 1980s jersey. Then in the GF, he took it off and changed into Parra gear. Lol...chanting for two teams that absolutely hate each other!

BARNSTORMING Bulldogs winger Matt Utai is expected to join the NRL exodus with a Super League move to be announced today.

One of the most destructive dummy-half runner in the game, Utai is all but a done deal with the Wales-based Celtic Crusaders and will leave the Kennel after spending most of the year in the NSW Cup.
Utai recently returned from Samoa where he farewelled family members who lost their lives in the tsunami.
Farewell Utai :(

Anyone who saw Big League earlier in the week would know the deal has already been done. Good ol' Tele, always up to date.
