The signing comes off an impressive game against the Dolphins. In a losing team, he was just about the best player on the field that afternoon. Only 21 so he has plenty of footy ahead of him and likes his dad has the skill to play any position.

I'm not sure if he's as much a menace as John.

It's a very Melbourne Storm like signing where they'll take a punt on you if you're turning heads in QCup. We've seen Melbourne have success with Cameron Munster, Nicho Hynes, Jahrome Hughes, Justin Olam etc. and it's very much in that vein.

Your exactly right. Q Cup is a great breeding ground for players to learn and the Storm do it perfectly. Much better then bringing over hyped schoolboys straight into grade. I reckon it's something the Broncos didn't do well. Munster was outstanding in Q Cup, when at the Capras and they never considered him.

Brisbane and Canterbury were in the race for Munster, but Melbourne made the better offer.

With that said, I don't think Munster becomes the best five eighth in the game if he didn't go to Melbourne.

Considering this signing. Do you think we still sign a marquee for next year?

I suggested in the Souths game thread, we need a 7 and a Centre. And I'd love a Marquee player at 7 obviously.

I know this youngster is probably a development player, however I am nailed on for Katoa long term. However, I think we need a true marquee guiding the troops around. Look at the difference Reynolds has made to the Broncos. If we can get a younger Reynolds I would be buzzing.

Who are the 7's off contract for next year?

I remember Nicho and Harry Grant taking apart Souths at Davies a few years ago for a Storm feeder
