With the light for season 2009 all but flickering and about to go out very soon maybe it is about time for the coaching department to justify their existence over the past four years .

Okay like all other teams theirs the bad luck stories but as a business they have failed to deliver again and as share holders (be it members) we deserve to know what strategies are in place to finally deliver a team that can finish mid table in a pretty average competition. Even a team with a injury toll and bad luck should be able to crack 7th or 8th in this comp.

Iam not Sheens bashing, I just think the chemistry between himself and the team is over. Its stale and we are once again going nowhere and if he is to continue next year and needs to come out very soon and give us a battle plan to how he is going to finially deliver, and if their is to be the so called cleanout, well let it begin and get them out of FG now.

My guess this time next year it will be a matter of same same, nothing much will have changed--same hard luck stories, same roster and same salary cap woes and of course same postion on the table. So come on Tim put the KPI'S on the table and present a buisness plan or for once just be ACCOUNTABLE

So So So true. Painfully true
I'm sure the supercoach is canvassing some Panthers dinosaur like Merv Cartwright, Mark Levy, Lew Zivanivic or Lew Platz to see if they'd like the gig on the back of 3 yrs unsuccessfully running the meat raffle at the oberon RSL

Many of us said it at the time but, by knifing Longmuir, WT board have made a huge rod for their own backs- where is the accountability and plan to get us going up in the comp and not relying on "its a game..."?

WT board will not do it, any new 'permanent' CEO will have learnt from Longmuir's fate, the 2 x temporary CEO's will not do anything- and Teflon keeps merrily on his way with no accountabiilty despite his protestations he is accountable. Accountable to whom? and more importantly- what the hell is he to be judged on apart from the teams success- which has been poor, or has the team suddenly become social workers and their success judged by their community work. At least that is better than their on field performance.

Not many teams can boast of having a Farah a Lawerence a Marshall a Ellis a Galloway and some young kids like Moltzen and Laurie, but teams like Souths Canberra with teams full of nevilles keep out performing us WHY??They have injuries, they get bad calls, I just dont understand how we keep under performing year in and year out. Take the dogs, a bad year, big cleanout, target class players and 12 month latter are firing--simple.
Anyway I have this beef every year and nothing changes

There must have been more to the CEO leaving, merely asking the coach to fullfill some KPI's cannot be enough to get him kicked?

Anyway regardless of the that, if sheens doesnt make the 8 this year then surely its time to resign. He has the cattle, the game is being played in a style that suites the tigers, so there should be some results yea?

Our man from the coal fields makes a very valid point, under the two ref system the game is taylor made for the tigers yet they still cant deliver when it counts

I am cautiously optimistic Sheens might walk away soon. Maybe that is just wishful thinking. However he now has the Australian gig for as long as he likes. Even if there is little to no pressure from the Wt Board on Sheen surely he must be embarrassed deep down. Surely even his ego must tellhim he can't keep coming back or keep going under the radar. A club with a winning culture would of punted him after 2007, but we are not a good club and accept mediocrity.Surely in 2010 he could combine his Aussie gig a bit of media work or a pick up a few column inches during the season to keep him happy and occupied enough in the game.

With Sheens away on a long tour of England at seasons end and no doubt taking the sidekick Royce with him it is the perfect him to say farewell chaps. We need a big review before 2010 and our 2 gurus be swanning over in the UK watching Australia rack up 50 against the likes of France. Im sorry but that does not sit comfortably at all with me. I was dead against Sheens being allowed to take the Australian job on the principle that all his energies should be focused on turning around the mess and mediocrity he has created at the Tigers.

the motivation to poke hammond and wests in the eye must have been strong too but mostly it was tom chucking a hissy fit and his disciples at balmain and campbelltown ensuring his lordship didn't have to suffer having his divinity questioned by unbelievers

dont get between a believer and his messiah

But Eddie if the great man was to walk we need to know now so we can start to source a new coach or will it be like our recruitment strategy, hit the market place with a fist full of dollars in November when the only players still on the market are ones who could not get a run for a second division side in the ESL.

That, unfortunately, is exactly the point the WT board seem to miss- need to act early- know where you stand, so you can hit the market quick and get signatures on contracts before all you are left with is the dregs. Alas the latter, is the usual WT policy................

So its agreed, get rid of Batman & Robin & any player who says "you haven't seen the best of me yet"? If they play for WT I want to see there best in the preseason & all season every game, not when they move on from our hoilday camp.

Sooooo, who is the new coach to be?

The Tigers need Brian Smith. Finishes at Newcastle next year.

Get him. The man knows how to rebuild clubs and is a shrewd and ruthless recruiter. He'll play no favorites.

Biggest problem I see for Wests is their distinct lack of size. They look soft compared to other teams in terms of their body shape. I think you're still in the 90's with your methods here.

if we got brian smith i would be beyond ecstatic

all 4 clubs he has inherited have been in a heap. illawarra, saints, parra and newcastle. he turned every single one of them into top 4 clubs.

he pissed a lot of peeople off along the way but did what he was paid to do.

i'd take an absolute terrible year like his first year at the knights if it meant cleaning this joint out.
