Tendulkar did the right thing as skipper though, had Vettori and Finch bowling nude-nuts when the World XI was 5 for bugger all in order to ensure a contest.

Lara hit an absolutely perfect cover-drive the ball before he was knocked over. It was vintage late 90s Lara.

As good as Tendulkar was, Lara will always be the best I ever saw with my own eyes IMO.

Lara was almost Bradman like when he got his eye in. Hardest player to dismiss once he got going. But his flamboyant style got him out early a lot, probably why McGrath did so well against him and why his average is lower.

Tendulkar was more orthodox, took his quick singles and while he was aggressive, he also had good defence but usually gave you a chance or two in his innings and his longevity was amazing.
