That's where the pocket ref shpuld come in.

Not playing the ball with the foot? Penalty.

Walking off the mark? Penalty.
How about the key tackler gets to his feet as quickly as possible, raises his hands above his head and stands directly in front of the bloke playing the ball. If the bloke playing the ball intentionally moves off the mark or interferes with the marker . . . penalty, or at least return to the mark

There are tries scored on the line that wouldn't have been if players weren't allowed a metre head start

Refs are deliberately giving sides a leg up .. take yesterdays games ..

Farmer Brown puts his head in totally the wrong spot trying to make a tackle, all his fault. He gets KO'd which whilst unlucky for him was all his issue.

Refs give the sharks a penalty and put the runner on report. Net effect - a free interchange to swap Brown off and on, a key penalty in the context of the game as it went from the Warriors attacking the line a few points down to the ball at the other end and in the ensuing play the Sharks scored.

That was a ridiculous decision and an absolutely unfair one to the warriors for a number of reasons including score and interchange advantage.

a farcical rort.

How about inside the 10 if the defending team gives away a penalty the referee doesn't blow his whistle until the attacking team finishes it's set of 6
