You know what he cops a fair bit from us fans because hes not playing at the level we need or want him to play but I have nothing but respect for the bloke. He has played 150+NRL games, how many people can say they have done that?

He doesn't come across as someone that was just a natural prodigy so he probably worked his butt off to get to where he did and achieve what he has.

A fair comment, Milan. I just can't understand why "working his butt off" would not lead to a better kicking game. I am delighted that Mann has taken his spot but he may yet have a role to play from the bench. Certainly more value there than Milne.

Actually I think, kicking aside, McCrone did a pretty fair job when Widdop was out. Oddly enough I reckon we would have beaten the Sharks were it not for his 4 kicks over the deadball line that night. We must also acknowledge McCrone played a big part in Illawarra's NSW Cup Premiership. Some may think this no big deal but a premiership in any grade is a real achievement. Never a hint of scandal about the guy which you can't say about all NRL players these days. I wish him the very best for the rest of his career.

depending how far back you go, and if you count ARL and NSWRL records as well, there'd be a fair few hundred, possibly even thousand, blokes who can say that..

not sure how many are on the forum though... particularly those from the early 1900s...

I'm gonna be that guy...wolves don't actually live in packs. They live in family groups with a permanent mother and father leading the cubs around.
So is McCrone going to be the mummy or the daddy?

Good luck to Josh & his family in a wonderful opportunity to experience living in another beautiful country whilst making a living from the sport you love.
I can't get the image of Monty Python and their famous song....." He's a Lumberjack " out of my mind. Josh Lumberjack McCrone....cutting trees & defences to pieces!

We've had some memorable wins with McCrone as half. Wins against Souths and Roosters last year come to mind, Penrith game this year. McCrone played well in those games.

Best of luck to him. Not the most gifted footballer but no one can argue he gives 100% each week which is all you can ask from the players. It is up to the coach/administration to pick the RIGHT team.
