At the press conference afterwards

"50 points looks bad but I dont think we are that bad"

"The guys are trying their guts out there its just an experience thing"

"We dont have an 80min performance in us at the moment"

"We will prepare to win games, we will have a good crack, we will try to find a plan and do what we did tonight and start good"

"We lost because of weight of possession"

"As we always do we will hold players accountable for their performance, we will review video and see"

"The young guys will be good, they will be fine, they have been with us when we were successful in the top 4, they will be fine they will be there next year"

It's not a joke guys

We are in deep shit and it's getting deeper.

A couple of marquee players won't drag us out of it either, we had them this last couple of seasons and look where it's got us..

Cappy ain't the man, neither is iro.

Also... what would the average age of our 17 last night have been ?
We are probably setting records there too..

1. Haven't seen a plan yet McFadden
2. Obviously Hurrell's faulty - a week off for him

Lets break it down.

The left side, not even 30 nrl games experience across all 3.
Halves pairings 22 NRL games, 3rd time for Lolo and 1st game for Lino in the halves..
Our top prop suspended, our second off with a fracture in the first set.
Gubb, Vete, Lousi, Lisone all rookie forwards. Again less than 70games across those 4 players.
A clean out of 11 players, including the Pom who is a complete failure.

Do I think Cappy is the man? No but I don't know any top coach who could if won last night with what we had.

Defense a huge issue, players seem afraid of contact and have no clue how to adjust and talking seems non existent at times.

Joey Johns called the Warriors effort pathetic and the the left edge defence the worst he has ever seen and the players looked like they had just met

Didn't see the game, is his assessment closer to the mark than McFaddens ?

I only watched the highlights as thankfully I was out last night, but the highlights pretty much tell the story as it's essentially just shot after shot of Cowboys players going through the line in embarrassing fashion. it's even more comical when you watch it in the highlights and they're back to back like that.

Yep. McFaddens delusional if he thinks what happened out there is in any way acceptable. Someone needs to teach these guys how to defend. He's had 18 months to improve something, ANYTHING with this group, and there's no sign of it happening.

I haven't always been Kearneys biggest fan leading upto and including the World Cup debacle, but after the Anzac win in particular, I've been happy to acknowledge that he's made the necessary adjustments and turned the corner.

The sooner we get the Kearney/Kidwell combo over here the better.

I'm not sold on Kearney alone, but a Kearney/Kidwell combo, hell yeah. Want to see Stacey continue t develop as a coach too.

McFadden is a dud. For the perfect case in point, look at what Parramatta have done this year.

Lost the best player in the world, couldn't replace him. Their halfback mouthed off, crashed cars, was unfit, then pissed off to the UK. They got embroiled in salary cap shit. Their CEO walked the plank. Their hooker just broke his neck (and played through it). Their captain is injured. They've got an injury toll just as bad as ours.

Yet they beat an in-form, really up for it Manly side at home, were all over the Roosters the week before, beat the Panthers and mid-year beat the Storm, Tigers and Dragons on the bounce. They also compete nigh-on every week v any side.

Their coach is the goods, and they play for him. He's uninterested in excuses, getting too far ahead of themselves or any of that shit. They have lapses and deficiencies, they work on them and cure them.

I'm telling ya'll, our coach is no good and it's clear as day. Injuries are a BS excuse for the shit we're putting up with.

Uncle Stacey.

Will only take a bad start, conceivable given a new spine.

I think Uncle Stacey has had the perfect apprenticeship.

Anyways whomever signed Isaac and Roger deserves credit.

Jim signed both. No one's doubting him, he's as proven an operator as there is in league.

Stacey isn't the answer either. Absolutely no way in the wide world we can make our 6th coach in 6 years one who hasn't even assisted at NRL level.

I've said it before but I'd take Toovey. I have no doubt at all that the next coach who comes in (there will be one) Jim will appoint someone who is capable, and he'll make it very clear to the players to pull their heads in or they'll find a new club.

McFadden is a dud. .

What shocks me is there are some that don't see it...

Whether he's a dud, or not ready for this level is irrelevant - he has to go imo

IMO we need a coach with experience and mana (doesn't have to be in a NZ context, but has to be respected) - that is not Stacey - he simply doesn't have the experience, and like Kearney really needs to get it before coaching at this level (which is imo way tougher than international or SOO given the week in week out grind, and the lower quality of player).

Could be Toovey, could be someone else - but we had a perfect opportunity when they signed Elliott (is it scary that he actually might have been the best candidate? Are we that poorly thought of), and the decision to extend McFadden was equally geniused - who on earth was going to poach him, what were they thinking???
