Coach painted himself into a corner and everyone else left the sheds.
He isn't smart enough to work out the paint has long dried and that he isn't painting afresh every week.
Same paint same corner every week.

Hi Old Timer.
Would you do a fellow long term Dragons' supporter a favour?

1. Please ignore the coaching issue just for the moment. We all know that is Problem No 1. It's all been said on here while the inferior intellects on the Board continue to back Mary all the way with an early extension.

2. Can you put yourself back in the good old days as chairman of selectors when we had a selection committee? Please give us the benefit of your wisdom built up over years of watching the Dragons and footy in general and publish the team you would pick from those available for next round's game?

Hard to know who is fit or otherwise but I'll have a crack

Lomax (I like Dufty but he has some work to do and needs to be dropped to set an example)
Pereira
Lafai
Aitken
Pearson
Field
Hunt
Frizz
T Sims
Leilua (deserving ahead of others as he is starting to have a real dip)
Vaughan
Mc Innes
Lawrie

K Sims
Host
Kerr
Timms or Robson but probably Timms

Resting Graham as he is gassed and busted and get him to take over running the side and not allowing coach anywhere near them.
If everyone was fit then my side would be quite different.

He needs to drop himself. He never found the sheds to lose them. If he goes he will never get another first grade gig anywhere. Not even with a NSW cup team. Bruce Gordon, if BJ can’t sack him them you should. Make the tough decisions needed to be competitive and win a comp.

Thanks, OT. I appreciate your time and thoughts. As you may have picked up I have been out of the country since Rd 2 so I have not been able to watch CCup so feel at a disadvantage but they have been consistently racking up points. On that point I had to laugh when in Mary's Press Conference he said you had to make sure a player promoted from CC was better than one dropped from the NRL team. It sounded like confirmation that he has no idea because he never watches CC which I was told last year was the case.

You feel that Dufty out and Aitken in is an improvement. That is an interesting thought for me. Have you seen Pearson or just heard good things about him? I agree with Leilua - increasing involvement and effort throughout the season.

Graham - 4.runs for 40 metres despite all his tackling certainly presents a problem. I liked Kerr's effort in defence yesterday but was disappointed that we did not see more than 4.runs from him. But he has been at the Dragons 3 seasons now - time to give him a decent chance to show whether he is a keeper or not. Liked Timm in whichever trial match he played but despite McInnes further lifting his game this year I am seeing so many clubs getting a real boost from a fresh dummy half. Lawton for the Warriors killed us, Segeyaro great for Broncos in his first game and Baptiste only played about 12-13 mins for the Cowboys last round but played a part in their victory. I like Host as I know you do but have felt he hasn't added much from the bench in this losing sequence. So I might suggest Timm and Robson in at Host's expense.

Thanks again. Thoughtful team to start a discussion. What a great thought - Graham in the coach's box! Love it!

So by appointing Gould as Manager of Football, there is a good chance Mary will get p*d off with the direct questioning of his decisions and the thought of being dropped to reserve grade. The Board may not have to sack him, he may walk with a golden handshake instead.

The healthcare of his roster is a very important part of a head coach's responsibilities. Playing players busted or even fatigued should be avoided rather than be the norm.
Gould ain't coming here, forget it

We are the Dragons. We need Danearys from Game Of Thrones to ride her dragon to Kogorah and burn it to the ground. Then members can vote in a new board, and have some say in how this once mighty club is being run.

I would appoint Daenarys as Head Coach immediately- at least she knows how to manage a Dragon.

Usually agree with you possm but couldn't possibly support Gould's involvement. He was responsible for sacking a perfectly good coach in Griffin at Penrith and look at them now!!

Unfortunately many in this place talk our team up beyond its real capabilities.
We all want to be feeling buoyed when the comp starts but you have to get rid of the emotion and deal with the facts
Some players appear to be not going so well but either tactics or combinations or fatigue cause issues and players can appear to be worse than they are (coach and tactics)
Meanwhile some players are truly limited and still get selected on the basis they have a great game every 6 or so rounds and have a good game in between but play poorly for 4 games.
Despite everything you read in here it is not s super strong roster and the selection and coaching is abysmal so we are where we are because we deserve it.
Over to those in charge.
