Mcguire once again showed his undeniable class tonight. His step for the first try was magic. In the second half he also directed us around in sinfields absence, setting up a good try for millard with a kick against the post and producing a good offload which led to walkers try.

He is finding his 04 form and i love it.

When he produces it against QUALITY opposition then you can say he has "undeniable class". Until then, no thanks. Produce it in the NRL or in Internationals then possibly. Until then he is just another one who dominates in the ESL! Nothing more, nothing less.

Oh great he got a man of the match against a second string Dogs outfit! One performance does not mean he is a great player! Bugger a lot of s..t players have got man of the match awards once or twice! As I said great players do it consistently. Danny hasn't done that and he won't be regarded as a great until he proves it in the NRL!

I don't think you did say that before? But anyway you're entitled to your opinion, as are others to theirs...

So because Stuart Fielden hasn't played NRL, he's not a great player?

Good player, not a great player though. He has to play in the NRL to be regarded as great. Hate to break it to you, it is pretty easy to look good in the ESL! Brad Drew does and he is s..t!

I will always rate Morely higer than Fielden until Fielden dominates in the NRL. Morely has done that and can be regarded as a great British player.

Locky... sometimes you can be so stupid it just isn't funny. Fielden is the best prop in the world by far! He has shown it on the international stage, and in the WCC every time he's played. He's been all over Webcke every time they played in the tests and I'm sure you rate him as the best prop in the world.

Your anti-ESL attitude is also lacking credibility. How is it that the NRL are so far ahead yet players like Vaealiki, Fletcher, Richards, Rauhihi, De Vere, Blacklock etc. (I could definitely name more) can leave here as stars and go over there and be such huge flops? Wouldn't that mean the ESL is a higher quality competition than the NRL?

I agree the NRL is better, but it's not as far ahead as you think. You don't even watch ESL so what makes you such a qualified judge? Because you're an NRL fan? Please, get a clue mate.

Bah!

So Stuart Fielden killing it in every Tri-Nation game he plays doesn't count? It's clearly obviously you are living in the past due to your fasination with Bret Hart and the believe Lockyer is no#1.

Why does a player have to play NRL to make them great? So Andy Farrell or Jason Robinson were never great players?

I think you'll be hard pressed to find someone who actually knows about Rugby League and England to agree with you.

Fielden is a good prop no doubt. As good as Webcke though? In my opinion- NO. That is a opinion. As for the ESL, I watch most of the games that are televised over here and the quailty is ordinary. So often you see blowouts. As for the players how about players that are s..t in the NRL and kill it in the ESL. The NRL comp is harder as it is quicker and the scorelines are closer. You learn to win when the going gets tough.

Yeah, it's not right though. You opinion lacks credibility as do your views on the ESL in general.

Did you even watch the world club challenge? If you did and still think Webcke is better than Fielden then you don't know anything about Rugby League. Fielden plays 80 minutes and gets through twice as much work as Webcke, that alone makes him better than him. Not to mention Fielden offloads at least 4 or 5 times a match and sets up alot of tries too. He's the complete front rower, I've never seen a prop with as much skill as he has.

But you think old bull Webcke, who is absolutely buggered after 20 minutes and puffing like an old steam train for the rest of the match, who doesn't set up jack sh*t and is quite a liability in defence later in the match, is still better then Fielden just because he's in the NRL? You're hopeless mate.

Glad to see some realism amongst some Australians on this board e.g. Parradude - Jay.

It seems like people in Australia have the 'Phil Gould' view of rugby league = call anything that involves British rugby league.

Brian Carney is another example - he was disliked by Wigan fans, they constantly called him and boo'd him off the pitch because of poor performances.

Yet he seems to be doing all right in the NRL.

It's obvious the NRL is better but the gap is getting closer.

Jeez, it is pretty easy playing 80 mins in a comp where it is so much slower than the NRL . Add to that the fact he plays in a good side who happen to be on the attack all the time. Defense is what kills you not attack. Webcke is better in defence from what I have seen. Hardly misses a tackle!

He missed well over 50 last year, what are you talking about?

Are you going to tell me that the internationals Fielden stars in are of a slower pace than NRL games? Your opinion of the ESL has no credibility but now you're saying his performances for GB don't count?

What about when he single handedly took apart the Wests Tigers? They are supposed to be the champions of the best competition in the world. I guess you'll bring up Benji Marshall's injury but it doesn't say good things about our comp when the injury of a 20 year old is enough to make the champions crumble.

The reason the ESL is viewed as a retirement home, or a place for players who can't cut it in the NRL is because people like you locky are too narrow minded to actually take an interest in their game so you can form a valid opinion on it. Being an Australian and an NRL fan doesn't make you the most knowledgeable Rugby League brain on the planet.
