sorry but you just talk so much rubbish.... the injuries are linked. Anything to do with an injury to the leg means they are linked as one thing has to overcompensate for the other, wouldn’t matter if different legs or the same
Think that's impossible to prove. The injury was caused by lateral force to the outside of the knee. Could easily have been the same result even if he wasn't returning from a broken leg.
In saying that, I don't think he should have played the tournament

I am sorry chosen one. I am not sticking up for Mary. But for Cam to play, medical staff have given him the green light.
In saying that can someone please explain to me why a forward who is over 30 years of age is out there playing kick and giggle in the middle of summer.
Again this is not a dragon thing, other clubs do it as well.
9's is a game for kids to see if they can cut it. Not for a busted prop.
Peace be with you
I assure u master I am not in Mary’s corner either. Breathe.

My point is from experience with my lo
You may be right re coming back to soon but I don't think that was the problem.
Two totally different injuries.
To be totally honest I think with hindsight that we shouldn't risk any of our major players in a 9's tournament.
But that's football. Injuries are part and parcel of the game
my point is from experience with myself and my lot if not physically but mentally even if doc says ok you favour an injury first hit out which puts strains on other parts. First hit out imo should of been charity shield in 13 v 13 game where you are not covering so much ground under fatigue. But I am not trying to undermine your medical association or knowledge In house.

No problem your opinion has a lot of merit. But it's the same with all injuries when do you bring a player back.I would suggest he was just unlucky. I'm hoping that scans will prove it's only a minor tear and he won't miss too many games. But it will be interesting to see how Issac Luke goes in the mean time . Also may give Joey his chance on the bench.
By the way I think the 9s are a waste of time. I don't think we should be risking any of our main players just let the young guys had a go

Sorry, this doesn’t help.

So was it a misdiagnosis back in 2019 or was it a correct diagnosis but the medical team forgotten about the broken leg?

First of all I'm not he to judge the previous medical staff and there diagnosis.
They are as qualified as the next person .
Imo he was just unlucky with this injury

Yep you don’t bring your captain and star player back risking injury in a nothing game.
Charity shield I could just accept cause everyone would like one 1/2 game hit out under their belt b4 rd 1

Agree. If you want to play 9s have a specific 9s squad (that doesn't include your top 17) similar to how they run the rugby 7s. Could also replace that NRL touch football comp they run before NRL matches

The NRL said you have to have a certain number of your top squad in the tournament.
Roosters were exempt cause of WCC
Let’s face it Mary went all out to win it and nearly did to get the $1 mill and to get all us doomsayers if his back. The club needed it
Unfortunately no one remembers who came 2nd in a week or 2 Especially in the 9s

With Cam seemingly out for a while the question is who plays 9.

In order of best to worst option:

Ben Hunt
Lovodua
Luke
Hayden Lomax

if Hunt plays 9,

Norman to play 7
Sailor 6

when Cam comes back he becomes our JDB clone.

I would like to see Lovodua trialled at 9. He has ball playing ability, and is a reasonably solid defender. If it doesn’t work, Joe’s contract won’t be renewed.

I am not keen on Luke because he seems past it. Knowing the great white dope Mary, Luke will be immediately given the 9 jersey.

I don’t know whether Hayden Lomax is up to it so I won’t comment on his prospects.

No,no,no,no and no.

Last year we chopped and changed players and positions every week and it just made things worse.
Cam's out, we have Luke to fill in at Hooker, end of story.

McIdiot must feel safe now, Cam’s injury will give him the excuse for our slow start to the season.

This is my concern also, he has not only the excuse of losing JDB, Cam and K.Sims but he can also point at the 9's success and ride that for all it's worth. In fact I expect him to mention all those factors at his next ( losing coach ) press conference.

Champions of 9s get 250K prize money.
If the same team were to go on and win the NRL Premiership they would earn the standard 400K for winning NRL plus a bonus of 350K would be paid so that would in total be 1 million dollars.
So Mary was never going to win 1 million dollars, it was actually 1/4 of that.

Hi All, I am pretty pragmatic view of injuries.

They are really ‘luck of the draw’ and there is very limited control over them. Fitness yes, injuries no. From year to year different teams can have shocking runs, others very good runs on injury. We had a good run in 2018 ( Jack D B did carry a chronic hip problem). At the business end we got a run of serious injuries including Tariq and Gareth otherwise we would have gone close to winning the comp.

Cam was probably good to go in the nines and itching to be there. He was training strongly with lots of running and agility and contact drills. He played strongly against the Sharks etc. I fear that Korbin’s previous arm injury has occurred again. Remember he got on the park last year and played ok for the rest of the season. Landing at the wrong angle/ wrong position etc,and a break occurs.
Let’s hope for a better run in the season proper.

This is a tournament that simply is not required. As suggested by other members the format should be changed so as to have only the younger players selected , preferably those from the C.C. teams - give them their moment in the sun .

Our injury toll is horrendous and I will go as far to say very destabilizing at this the very beginning of the new season . Although the reality is that it is not the beginning of the competition proper and that is the point that the NRL should be taking into consideration when they come up with these brain dead ideas .

The players in this ‘ The greatest game of All ‘ are highly tuned athletes commanding extremely high contracts , yet here they are being used as ‘ cannon - fodder ‘ for some lousy 2nd rate hybrid competition that the big boys from the NRL have thought up so as to pull in even more revenue . The season is far too long with this the Nines , the indigenous game , the pre-season and competition itself , not to mention the S.O.S. matches .

I am just so bloody annoyed that the Dragons have suffered these injuries which as I said earlier , will derail any chance of success before a ball has been kicked in the premiership proper , it’s both annoying and demoralizing .

‘Total prize money of $1 million is on the line, with a bonus $1 million available for any men's team that can win both the Nines and NRL Telstra Premiership this season’

Sydney Morning Herald
"The nines champions will earn $250,000 for just two days of work at Perth’s HBF Stadium, the home of A-League side Perth Glory. However, the windfall will be greater still if they can back it up and take out the NRL grand final in 2020.

The premiers will still earn $400,000, but the NRL will provide a bonus of $350,000 if a team is able to take out both the NRL and the Nines titles. That will take the total prizemoney to seven figures if the feat can be achieved."
