Only first two games he is out.

Sharks recruit Cameron McInnes will miss the opening rounds of the 2022 season after undergoing a minor surgical procedure on his knee.
The procedure will enable McInnes to be available in four weeks, meaning he will miss the trial match against the Bulldogs on Monday night and the first two games of the season.

The knee issue represents a frustrating start to McInnes’s career at the Sharks, however the former Dragon has trained strongly throughout the summer, with Club medical and training staff confident he will be back on deck for the early rounds.
In further Sharks injury news, Siosifa Takakai who left the field after suffering a head knock last Sunday, has so far passed the concussion protocols and is expected to be fit to take part in the Bulldogs trial.
The Sharks reported no other injuries in their first trial hit out against the Panthers, with that squad to be boosted by likes of Dale Finucane, Nicho Hynes, Wade Graham, 2021 Player of the Year Will Kennedy and a host of their established NRL stars, for the game on Monday night.
The Sharks team for the Bulldogs trial will be announced later today

If he has been running at full tilt for a while now, why have they left it so long to clean up?

Interesting I remember when we signed him, there was a particular dragons fan laughing saying his knee was shot completely, I certainly hope not

Edit. oops Wrong thread. a million pop up ads and it's spacked out to another thread.

On topic, shame about Macca. Was long forward to seeing him fit and pumped

All reports from the pre-season was that he was killin it.. good thing that they've gone in for a precautionary clean up if he's otherwise fit. Plenty of NRL guys running around with messy joints, it's a set back but part of the game. In previous years we'd have played him all year and left the surgery to the off-season so this is a good sign imo

Agree. The season is a marathon. Need him fit and firing for the big games ahead. Short-term pain for longer term benefit.

It's also in a position we have a more than reasonable amount of depth in so it would be crazy to play him.

Hopefully he makes a speedy recovery.
