Um this may be a bit of a smokie, but what about the Sydney University coach? Now that bloke can get his forwards going forward and has good set plays!

Thats who I was sort of talking about. What about coachs at the next level down from S14 who have been cleaning up in their local comp.

I would like to see the ARU for once just swallow their pride and take a punt on a overseas coach it is has become quite clear that with McKenzie and Nucifora dropping out we don't have any quality candidates. lockyno1 I have met the current Sydney Uni coach, Steve Surridge and if he was handed the job..... I would lose all faith in the Wallabies.

We should be looking at guys like Nick Mallett who is the most successful springbok coach of all time, under him they won the 97 Tri Nations undefeated and went on to string together a record 17 straight victories that ended in December 98. He later went on to coach Stade de Francais in the French league and won 2 consective championships in 03 and 04. Now you are telling me a guy like this would not do a better job than Connolly?

Or maybe Marco Loffreda the current Argentina coach since he took over in 2000 the Pumas have been consistantly improving up to the point where a trip to Buenos Aires is almost as dreaded as one to the House of Pain, Ellis Park, Marseille or Twickenham. Under him the Puma forwards have become one of the most powerful in world rugby and their backs can score from any part of the field.

These are the sorts of people we should be looking at, in fact the ARU and that dickhead Gary Flowers, should be going out of their way to invite men like this.

Picking a coach below Super 14 just will never happen. The coach has to prove himself on an international stage not just a domestic comp which is far weaker than the NPC and Currie Cup. We may as well just put a coach from the NZ NPC.
