Quite an emotive debate here it would seem. From what i can gather Gower's had a bit of an unsolicited *edit - alleged* feel of Wayne Pearce's daughter, got a bit rowdy, and has bagged the penalty for it. He's admitted he's done wrong, apologised for said action and taken the punishment.
This type of behaviour tends to get more coverage over here if it's a Premiership footballer, and then it's usually got a court injunction preventing any sort of details being released. The only coverage RL players get for mis-behaving usually is if they get sent down, like Ryan Bailey and Chev Walker did the other year for brawling.
As others have said here, and my opinion reflects in most cases. I'm more concerned with a players performance on the pitch, but would obviously like them to show a little respect of the position they're in, given that most of us would give anything to be a top footy player doing something they love and get paid handsomely for it. I'd start getting concerned if their off the field antics started to reflect their on field performance.
