Where did he say this? The problem with him is he can’t hide it well enough to make it sound real. He does this deliberately for the clicks

I fell asleep in nrl360, but I’d imagine it was on there. I saw it in an article this morning

Read is running out of excuses and is looking lamer and lamer each week as we keep progressing. To put it into context…. He also doesn’t believe that Penrith can win the comp although he said he might change his mind if they get past the donkeys this week. Not quite the full quid Read. Also said that the dogs (his side) only changed to Galvin because they didn’t think they could win the comp this year so they had nothing to lose. Even Anastasia and Tallis are taking the piss out of him now. Buzz always has.

He also said the Dogs' lofty position on the ladder was due to them having a soft run to the midway point of the season.
Two byes and only played something like 2 top 8 sides in that period.

And from the biggest Media Grub of them all, Gould.

“We’re delighted to have him on our books. We took the opportunity when it arose. It came out of the blue.

“We didn’t know it was going to happen at the time but we made a decision that we wanted him in our club and that’s what we did.

Oh BS. Just absolute and total BS like everything from his mouth.

He has been agitating to get Galvin out for a while.

It was clear as day and obvious to all who was behind it and where he was going.

“Now it’s led to this media barrage, and a lot of it has been childish and extremely unfair. But as I say to the boys, welcome to the Bulldogs.

Again what absolute rot. The only club that gets anywhere near the media darling attention is the Broncs. The Dogs get an absolute free ride and their tyres pumped by the morons in the media and to come out and say they cope a barrage is f&*king ridiculous.

If the Dogs had the wins against the Rorters and Raiders in the finals that we have the lapdogs in the press would have run out of tissues to wipe their chins after all the fellating they'd be doing of the DOogs.

The irony of Gus bagging the media’s agenda and narrative.

I'm sorry this is an old man question, but I have never been able to get my head around the "clicks" that these media guys live for. I understand "clicks" refers to times when people open up articles written online but what is the relevance of this? Why do they do it for the clicks? Is it a financial thing? If so, how the hell does that work?

More visits means more ad revenue.

How?

And how does this help the journo?
I think it is like tv with veiwership.

Higher rating shows have advertisers paying more.

So if a page gets x amount of clicks the advertisers pay more to be on that site.

That may not be 100% correct, but if it is not then there is also the increase in clicks means that advertisers on that page have a greater chance of getting click through.

I do think it is a combination of the above, but don't fully understand either

How?

And how does this help the journo?
They keep their job.
They can now see how many people actually read their articles by the click.
Effects their pay too, more clicks equals more pay because the cost of adverts on the site will rise if they can see that many people are reading their articles.
When it was papers only, why did people buy them? For the news? For the sport? For the weather?
Now they know who people are actually reading.
