Media push for JOHNS is a joke.

All media outlets are describing Andrew JOHNS return as a success despite the Newcastle Knights being well beaten. He played no better than KIMMORLEY or GOWER were able to behind a beaten forward pack. The biased media description is obviously to their benefit with the increased media storm gaining them a massive increase in profit should JOHNS somehow be miraculously chosen for State of Origin Two. JOHNS, KIMMORLEY and GOWER all proved the well known Rugby League formality that it is impossible for a halfback to shine behind a beaten forward pack that the Knights, Sharks and Panthers were.

Should JOHNS be selected at half then Rugby League will prove that it is corruptable to media desires and that it's worth is no higher than the Sunday Paper Social Pages.

We can only hope that the game is above that?

I thought Johns was tremendous today. Set up a good try for Brisbane, and was generally passive and ineffectual.

Given that NSW teams are not usually picked on form, Johns is a good chance.

I live in Newcastle and that's all we hear about. On the radio, in the papers, on the sides of buses and on TV. He does alot of commercials for local things, he is everywhere.

I gave up on the footy show because of Fatty and his ego.

Its a bit like that.Chief is another one that is everywhere, including the sides of buses. One of the local radio announcers was giving Michael Hagan heaps the other day about playing the bye. Hages did not get the joke and was most unimpressed. He also abused another announcer on air. Things in the Knights camp must be grim and deservedly so. They could have bought some decent players if they didn't waste their money on Joey. Kennedy and Tahu gave gone great since they left.

Disagree. He was only at the NE for that one year, 2001 and was a standout. In fact before this year that was the last time he played origin.
