College football has broadened its horizons in recent years by expanding bowl games across the United States and into Canada, but the NCAA's latest venture is its most ambitious one yet.

According to ESPN's Brett McMurphy, the Pac-12 and Mountain West conferences have agreed to take part in a bowl game in Melbourne, Australia, starting in 2016:

Back in the mid 80's Melbourne played host to a college game between the University of Wyoming and the University of Texas El Paso. It was played at the old VFL Stadium which had a too big of a playing area for American football to be played on it. I was one of the fans watching the game. I don't remember anything about the game.

Love the way college teams are doing this. The third college game of the decade for Dublin has just been announced as well. The NFL can go f**k themselves with the soulless London games and refusing to play elsewhere at this stage. College games have a better atmosphere anyway, the trick is to get enough of the alumni over. Not sure how good Baylor are for that though and it's a long and expensive trip.
