DISCLAIMER:

This was a rumour that that Jibberer Craig Hamilton on ABC just spake not 2 min ago.

Melbourne to pack up and go to GC and Central Coast to be added as a 16th team.

What price the double on this rumour? And if it happens what happens to Matt Orford's contract with Melbourne/GC?

Orford only signed a 1 year contract, so he could go to the CC team.

I dunno if i can believe it but if true it would be a good move because the crowds in Melbourne are shocking and both CC and GC deserve a team playing in their location.
The Bears deserve to be back.

Well there are a lot of QLD'ers in the Storm, and it would move them closer to their feeder club. Bellamy moves back to QLD and maybe his kids can go back to their old school. And also the CC has many plusses.

Apparantly Gallop has denied it though.

If this happens, i swear to god i will never support rugby league again. I think i stand with all melbourne storm fans on this matter. Im happy to have the warriors in the nrl but if its a f**king national comp then national teams dont deserve to be f**king told to leave. The NRL will pay for it if they do relocate us.

Yeah. You CANNOT let Melbourne move.

It needs more time to develop, and melbourne needs a rugby league presence.

It would be an unmitigated disaster if the NRL allows Melbourne to fold. No national legitimacy at all. The AFL took the long view and supported teams in Sydney and Brisbane and look what has happened. The self interested Sydney clubs and some in the media (eg Gould and Vautin on this morning's Footy Show) have tried to undercut national expansion. How short sighted these people are.

On top of that...I herbey promise to burn all my RL jumpers, shorts, socks, shirts, posters, balls, promgarmmes and singlets on the steps of NRL headquarters if the Storm move. And just to tell David Gallop what I really think of him in the event this happens, I'll put the fire out with fertelisser and leave it there!

No way should the Storm come up. If the Dolphins are admitted, I'd buy a season ticket and go to every game, but wouldn't attend any "Gold Coast Storm" matches.

Bellamy moves back to QLD and maybe his kids can go back to their old school

His kids didn't move down with him, and they've finished school now anyway.

The Melboure Storm Board went in to a closed door meeting on Saturday specifically to discuss the idea of relocating to the GC.

A decision was not made.

It's no rumor anymore the Storm are now seriouly considering it.

As I understand it if they go this way it will not happen for another 3 years. This gives the GC bid sometime to get their house in order re their stucture, finances and Stadium. Something the CC has had in place since 1999.

Umm yeah, Gold Coast doesn't have money, a stadium or a structure.

Didn't the North Sydney Bear's collapse in 1999? And the merger with the Manly Sea Eagles fail?
