For the good of the game, the Storm must stay in Melbourne.

Relocating the either CC or GC will just kill off the game there.

Why cant the NRL promote it more down there?

The main problem with moving the Storm out of Victoria is that the NRL becomes less attractive to sponsor.

Telstra are currently the main sponsors of the NRL but if the NRL abandons Victoria they may not be and even if they stay they will probably be paying less for their naming right (crowds/media support aside, there seems to be a surprising level of interest in the Melbourne Storm from the locals).

Then there is the broadcasting rights (Free to Air and Pay TV) - they would also be affected/worth less without a team in Victoria.

All those in favour of reducing the NRL's ability to provide $$$ to Club's please raise your hands and vote for the removal of the Storm.

The Melboure Storm Board went in to a closed door meeting on Saturday specifically to discuss the idea of relocating to the GC.

A decision was not made.

It's no rumor anymore the Storm are now seriouly considering it.

As I understand it if they go this way it will not happen for another 3 years. This gives the GC bid sometime to get their house in order re their stucture, finances and Stadium. Something the CC has had in place since 1999.

I have on Good source that is the Biggest load of Crap

Listen,

I am getting Sick of this Bullcr#p that from 2gb about the Storm (note: MAJORITY OF IT comes from the Mouth of Presenters on 2gb and probbally higher up)

I spoke to Frank Stanton (Interim CEO for the Storm) earlier this year(Mid May) and he said that Melbourne Storm is Here to Stay and has got Written authority from NRL CEO David Gallop that Melbourne Would be here for a long while.

If this happens, i swear to god i will never support rugby league again. I think i stand with all melbourne storm fans on this matter. Im happy to have the warriors in the nrl but if its a f***ing national comp then national teams dont deserve to be f***ing told to leave. The NRL will pay for it if they do relocate us.
i agree 100%
if the NRL does this it will be a massive kick to the nuts of rugby league.

Depending how much you believe Gallop but he has stated the rumour is not true.

Bellamy isn't helping when he said that if the team ws based North they would be going better.

Oh I know mate, just making a comment on what you said not directed at you personally.

It's pure stupidity to give up on the Storm now.

MELBOURNE STORM are here to stay. Crap crowds? We might be fewer in number but we are more vocal and passionate than a lot of RL fans to the north!

A great example is the crowd noise at the Panthers vs Storm game in Penrith in April this year compared with the crowd noise at the Storm vs Panthers game in Melbourne on Friday night.

They may not be the exact words but that was the gist in an interview last night. He mainly was referring to the ability to work with juniors and bring them on. By the way congratulations on the Victorian school team on defeating the Cronulla area winner.

NO current non Sydney team should have to leave, Warriors don't have to either.

While the theory on "Its a national comp, why are the Warriors in it" sounds plausible, its quickly nullified when you broaden your horizon and see the bigger picture outside of league. The NHL has Canadian teams, so does the NBA, what are they, oh thats right NATIONAL Hockey League/NATIONAL Basketball Association. The English County Cricket Circuit has a Welsh team in it.

They replayed an interview fromlast night.
I am not supporting the move but just reporting on what was said. It would be the most introverted decision if they do it. They need to think long term
