Bradley Meyers has signed with the Bradford Bulls for three seasons.

Bradley Meyers burst onto the scene in 2001, playing for Queensland and Australia.

He was released from his contract to join the Bulls in England, his contract wasn't due to expire until the end of 2007.

yeah by looking at their sqaud for next year he wasn't going to make their 17. Why did he turn so bad so quick?

Sad to see one of our juniors go after such a promising start to his career highlighted by the green and gold jersey in 2001. Such is life, he moves on to greener pastures where hopefully he regains some self belief and confidence that helped propel him to rep honors.

Why did he turn so bad so quick ?

I am not sure he 'turned bad', I think it was a combination of young talent coming through that overtook Meyers who struggled with injury back in 2002 from memory and this made a dent in his confidence which he never really recovered from.

Meyers offers the bulls a big lumbering runner of the ball who can bring aggression to the pack. Whilst he may need to work on his defence around the middle of the park (he can be guilty of missing simple tackles getting caught out looking for a break), the lesser standard that is the UK SL should see him excel like most average to good players seemingly do over there.

Can't say I've ever rated how he plays, I've always thought he was soft, but still, shame to see a young guy go to england.

A shadow of the player he was a few years ago. Which is a shame, cause he could really play.

Bloody hell, it would be nice if Super League clubs would sign British players. It wouldn't matter if they signed Lockyer, securing Aussie signitures will never impress me.

Meyers will be right at home in Super League.

reason meyers left:

1. they are having a mini clean out at red hill, too many under performers in the
fowards, and those on big money were more likely to go
2. lots of cheap talent in qld cup
3. lockyer now and hunt in the future will cost heaps

1 - On the first point, not really true, the only player released was Meyers, and at his request. Tallis retired, Webb was told last year he was no longer wanted but stuck around for one more year, Devere left on his own terms and the club has said very publically they wanted him to stay. Frawley like wise. Some clean out, the only player that left because he was unwanted was Webb.

2 - lots of cheap talent in the qld cup  Broncos aren't the only team to sign players from the qld cup. The fact they let meyers go without a fight is because they have so much young talent coming through in the forwards, that there was no real need to stand in the way of his request.

3 - finally Lockyer will be on a big contract yes, but remember the highest paid Bronco in Tallis is retiring. Also leaving was Frawley, Devere, and a few other young guns we had. Meyers leaving was hardly needed to keep the likes of Hunt happy finacially in the future.

Meyers has been crap since Toopi belted him on his test debut. A shame because he could have been a real star, but that's footy.

Before he played for Australia, he was one of the best second rowers going around, after that hit by Toopi as you were saying Booyah he has just gone downhill.

He has played better in recnet times, but some of his form has seen him drop back to the Toowoomba Clydesdales.

Hopefully he can play a lot better in England.
