I have never seen that much sideways running since Michael "Footpenis" Hancock graced the footy field many years ago. What was the go with it, a tactic to stuff Melbs sliding defence up? cuz dead set they smashed us everytime we did it!

but in saying that Hancock would be very proud of our performance i dare say he should give us more pointers on the art of crab running in which we can actually score tries from it and not get polaxed!

As Phil Gould said in the commentary the footy field is north/south not east/west so why are they running across the field instead of down the middle ??

I am constantly screaming at the boys on the tv to run straight up the guts but they don't seem to be listening.

I can understand why Dykes as the hooker/halfback/ five eight/lock running across field looking for support runners back on the inside. What I find difficult is why the players just stand and look at him? Its an old play, but one that works very well with bodies in motion - a runner running away from Dykes straight back in the direction from where he ran creates a hole when the defensive moves back but the players aren't moving with him.
