So I dont have the exact quote, or any link as it was just on 2HD. Michael Hagan essential said:

"Nathan Brown should stop preaching the rules of the salary and start training his team"

But apart from that Hagan was preaching that the Knights should have kept Rochow, Tapine and Sims by offering them more money because that's how the game is played.

Like, it was just incredible to hear the from the guy who signed numerous duds and paid overs for average players going in hard on the club and Brown.

~~~
Also apparently from MG, our entire NSW Cup team who aren't contracted have been told to go do pre-season with their local Newcastle/Hunter based club and wait for a call in February if they will be required for 2017. I found that concerning? Perhaps due to the uncertainty of our buyer?
Good 'ol Hags.
If he were still here Tariq would have just signed a 800K 4 yr deal and been suspended the past month. Rochow would have 600K a season and be injured the next 2 years and Mamo would have had a 750K contract ready to sign for a decade after his try today.
Given reserve grade has also struggled and anyone in that grade who is seen as having a chance of playing First Grade is contracted that last paragraph is probably not a big deal
He was strongly advocating for the retention of Sims + Mullen. Says the Knights Board is out of touch with the "realities of the player market and what their worth is".
If we continue with the only paying people what their worth strategy we could probably put a team on the paddock equivalent to 2015 for about $4m which gives us $3m to look for some whales.
Ironic that the guy who handles our contracts is the guy who built Cronullas roster. But sure Hages he has no idea "how to play the game".
This enrages me more than it should. Brown is in a no win situation as well because he would need to rubbish a bunch of players to refute this crap and just come across looking petty. Hagan winning that 2001 premiership was a millstone for this club in a lot of ways.
