As a guitar teacher I really hate when I get a new student and ask them what sort of music they are into and they say "Punk. Like Good Charlotte"

Or, worse, Simple Plan. Just had to work out Welcome To My Life the other day for the dozen or so students who've been begging me to teach it to them. I was ready to kill someone by the time I'd finished.

I haven't had the pleasure of learning or listening ( by choice) to any of GC's stuff.

I also play guitar in a band, when we first started out I had to learn "She hates me" by "puddle of mudd".
It was truly embarrassing, it is an atrocious song that the punters went absolute nuts over.
I never understood why.
We play "Stinkfist" by Tool and they stand there picking their noses.
Now there's some wholesome lyrics.

Certainly are a pop vocals are everything band. They do have some fairly heavy riffs for mainstream though. Ive heard of a lot of stories though when they first started out they used to get abused and stuff thrown at them at hardcore gigs :lol:

I saw them at the Reading Festival in England a couple of years ago (Metallica were headlining).
Everyone was just standing there, or even sitting. The only way they could get anyone to look interested was to say "Who wants to see Metallica?"

At one stage they were filming for a new single or something, and they kept yelling out "When I say Metallica I want you to jump up and down and wave your arms about". So everyone does. And GC end up with some good footage of everyone going nuts at one of "their" gigs. :roll:

Simple Plan, Good Charlotte etc are all interchangeable, shitty pop bands. Absolutely atrocious made for kiddies who dont know better. No redeeming features.

The fact they are paid for their "art" is a damning indictment on the free world.

As for church, I think I heard on CNN that most church workers are kiddie fiddlers anyway. Boredom issues aside, there's one good reason to avoid church like the plague.
