A bit of an anomaly this arvo, a top quality 'Golden Boy' card...
How about Katsidis, eh...
from the 5th he looked quality, regardless that the cut was caused by a head clash he was relentless for the last three rounds. No let up, and it's definitely not a walk in the park when you're facing Chavez. So to retire him on his stool...bravo Michael.
And then Valero...a legend in the making surely. Its not just the swarthy South American features that remind me of a young Duran, this boy can bang. That short right cross for the first knockdown, what a way to come out for the second. I thought he was looking messy for the second kd, but the finish was all class.
Now that he's fighting on American shows we're going to see a lot more of him, so that's all good...especially if GB and Arum can fix up Manuel Marquez. I can't see this fella hanging about for too long, defending the WBC wouldn't be high on the ol' priority list when unification of the 135 pounders would offer some serious match-ups.
What a year 2009's turning out to be...all hail the little men.
And if anyone's concerned that there's nothing connected to the NRL in this thread...we (Parra) were shocking on Friday, the chooks were there for the taking but we cackled it. I like to think I'm an optimist but there's more chance of me beating Valero (at a catch weight of around 185) than us winning a shield with Finchy at the club. Hope that little nugget kept the leaguies satisfied...I'll just be grabbing my coat and heading off to some boxing forums.
regards
