Former Test prop Michael Vella (knee) is due to return in Sunday's home match against Melbourne. Boom halfback Michael Witt is also believed to be under consideration for a call-up from premier league.

People have laid into Micky V, but I think he's had a few good games for us, and there are aspects of his game (for instance, his kick returns. I LOVE watching Vella return kicks, he's great at it!) which we sorely need at the moment.

Smith is a creature of habit.

Like I said before, he will give Thorman about 4 weeks, then he will drop him, regardless of his form, and he will give Witt about 4 weeks.

He also said at the start of the season that Witt would play the first half of the year in premmy league.

Best kick returner in the game, I reckon. Love watching him when kick-offs go his way. This is the main reason why I want Vella in the team.
