Mighty Panthers V Parramatta

Edwards is ranked 10th on average for whole NRL for tackle busts per game....

He breaks plenty of tackles..

At his best hes good for 200m + a game and takes a shitload of tough carries out of our own end to relieve tired forwards.

I wouldve prefered to see

1. Critta
2. Staines
3. Tago
4. Naden
5. Too

Critta is a much stronger returner of the footy.. often if a player gets put on there back in a dominant tackle on 1st or 2nd tackle it lays platform for the whole set and youre generally on the back foot..

Im definitley a bit worried about charlie returning the ball.. hes going to have to show a lot more and get a hell of a lot more involved than what he has so far this year.. literally probably triple if not more his involvement..

I hope he goes well but im not convinced its the right move at this point of his career
My personal take is that Staines will be fine at fullback. The carries he seems to struggle with are the play 2 dummy half scoots or one-out hits where he is up against a set line full of the big boppers; on a kick return I think he will be better given he will usually have both side of the field to choose from resulting in a more fragmented defensive line, and then he can use his speed and late footwork to find a small gap to hopefully squeeze his body into so as to not hurt monstered.

I am quite excited to see how he plays in attack. Pushing up on the inside when the ball goes left and then sweeping into the back line alongside Critta on the right. I am really looking forward to seeing him and Crittas combine (as FB/centre); I think that could be dynamite. Staines speed, combined with Crittas size and hands.

So happy with Staines at fullback of course it'll take some time to adjust. Hope he kills it though. Luai is good enough to lead the team but we won't beat Storm in a gf without Cleary.

Cleary will be back. Use the Reed Mahoney timeline. He is due back round 18 after doing it Round 13.

4-6 weeks for Cleary

The only issue I see with Parramatta is that they produce some arsey tries. They pull shit from nothing and good defences have been torn apart by it.

I back our structures but I predict one or two stinkers to keep them in the game.

We don’t know that for sure. We keep saying what this group of kids can and can’t do, and they keep surprising us.

If Cleary’s shoulder is stuffed (and like all on this forum I hope it isn’t) and there is even a slight chance that he could do more damage by playing it this year, I hope that they get the surgery straight away. Sure, without the best player in the game we are less likely to win this year, but I for one wouldn’t write off our chances against anyone.

The only GF this age group won together was without Cleary

We share the same views on Staines but no other options really. It is a mid term injury to Cleary. So with Burton out of the centres then we need Crichton in there

The Nathan Cleary injury may

have a silver lining. He is so thorough in his preparation and I'm confident he will be back in 3/4 weeks fresh and ready to go. Like others looking forward to Charlie playing fullback. Surely Naden will want to prove a point. Our forwards will get the job done. Kikau overdue for a big game. Panthers by 8.

Not sure there is anyone that expects May to actually start at centre. Tago in, May to the bench for Kenny.
Ivan did it in a grand final. Ivan loves Tyrone. Has he played any mind games this year? He has named sides and stuck to them unless injuries strike. Or he decides that a player needs match fitness so not playing at all would be good

We very rarely line up at 1-17 so he does

Yeah I am not worried either about this game or Cleary's injury long term

For stability purposes I don’t really have an issue with May playing centre in this game. You know what you’re gonna get. It’s a safe plug a hole job.

50/50 on Staines at the back but worth a crack, he clearly has potential. One thing Edwards does superbly is get between players and landing on his front from kick returns, and I haven’t seen that at all from Staines yet.

Solid team overall.

Parra should be more worried if they can’t beat us now they never will .We win it is a 2 horse race.Melbourne have Munster walking a fine line with the judiciary he has been lucky so far closer to the semi finals he might not be

Luai is fantastic. In saying that the Storm game he didn't exactly run rings around everyone. He just organised and sat back.

That was different circumstances. New combinations and that. Got weeks to build up Burton/Luai.

We have more run metres than Storm. Stuff like that doesn't get affected with no Cleary.

Kick metres.
Penrith 597 per game
Storm 483

That will get closer but still has the basics in front of them still.

I rewatched Origin. Luai put a few smart little kicks in too

Munster could take a knife on the field and stab the ref then proceed to skull f**k the corpse and still only get a fine and a story in the paper describing him as a bit of a larrikin.

If he played for Warriors he would have been banned for the season by now. They had a player binned and suspended for a head clash. Meanwhile Munster is going around assaulting people and cops a fine for it. Absolute joke.
