In the 80's we had a few of the Izzard brothers in the team but Brad was the only one to play rep footy and play in a GF.

I'd have to say that out of the 3 Brothers walters that Kevin was probably the least gifted in the abitlity stakes but he sure made up for it in being probably one of the best clubman to ever play the game.

Kevie behind T Lamb perhaps in the greatest club player category. Certainly Kevie was the Bronco greatest clubman. 1990-2001 (played 2 games or so in 2001).

Ruben Wiki missed out in that category. Craig Gower will come into consideration one would think

wiki is a great canberra player, but there is something (cant really put my finger on it...neither can hoppa) that seperates a Lamb/KWalters with a Wiki.

the same gower that re-signed for penrith in 2001 or 2002 only if they put in a clause that if they didnt make the 8 he could leave... it think it was 2002 cause half way through 2003 when the panthers were going alright he said he wouldnt use it...

my guess is had penrith had another shocker season gower wouldnt be in panthers colours right now... club man my arse

And for the record i rate Rubin Wiki on par with Lamb and Kevie but Croker puts them all to shame as far as loyalty and being a top club man go IMO

very well said Raider re Gower is not a true club man the way Croker/Walters/Lamb were.
Walters could quite easily have left the club in the early yrs (stg were after him) but he chose to stay with the Broncos. As for Croker...what can you say? Debut in 1991, played every bloody position bar water boy and coach ;-) Will crack the 300 1st grade games before he retires and deservedly so.
Croker is still to this day one of my fav players. His strength when he was younger was phenomenal. He had some "party trick" where he would hang from the side of the posts at right angles or something.
I dont know if i can put Toots with Lamb. Lamb is by far THE clubman when it comes to league.

Playmakers sometimes get a little "not much" prefference over guys like Wiki. Wiki's last 3-4 years were the definition of clubman, signing with the Warriors dents that, Wiki also had an opportunity to leave to the Warriors, Croker is a clubman to the death.

Matt Lockyer played quite well in the trial I saw him play for the Tigers however he probably only got the trial on his name. Does he still play in the QLD cup?

I've seen Matt Lockyer(east brisbane tigers) go up to a girl and say, "Hi, I'm Matt Lockyer, Darren's brother"

Very sad!

Sorry, Just saw ur post.

He was a regular first grader last season in the QLD Cup until Darren Smith and Steve Renouf started playing. He played on the bench most of this year.
