Millward: Update On Recent Recruitment Topics

This was a good update as it provided some insight as to the "complications" involving Leilua.

It appears that his agency agreement is coming to a close or is up and he is considering a change of representative.

Millward made it clear we won't be beaten on $$$$$$$$$$$$ !

He is seen as a first grader going forward.

The only negative we have in negotiations is that Mary is currently head coach.

Leilua may be awaiting confirmation of who his coach will be before signing.

Also, Millward kind of said that McIness wasn't his idea but that the coaches wanted him (from a while ago).

I think the young fella will still be given every opportunity at the club even under a new coach - McIness is clearly excited about being at the Dragons now.

Sounds like recruitment has a bit of direction and autonomy now.

A bit like Fawlty Towers, no?

Mary blames recruitment for not doing their job. Now recruitment hits back with "the coaches want him and even though we didn't, here he is".

All great but if Mary is still the coach none of these signings will make any difference next year .... The club is a joke if he remains ....

I found the reference to HC and coaching staff to be intetesting.
Didn't mention McGregors name, which normally you would refer to such as "our HC Paul McGregor, has been .........yada yada yada"
Analysing too much maybe!

Dragons coach Paul McGregor told me: “I think everyone knows I’m looking for a halfback to replace Benji (Marshall). “As for Kieran, who wouldn’t be interested if he was keen and we could get him cleared to play.”

True. Regardless, Millward facilitated the idea and clearly sees McIness as a promising young player. He has a great opportunity here, with a full pre-season ahead of him.

The same shit coaching staff that wanted him last year are seemingly going to be there in 2017 to utilize him.

LUCIANO LEILUA - Luciano is waiting to sort his agent out before signing any new contracts. The Dragons will put forth an offer that out-bids any other NRL club.

KIERAN FORAN - Won't be a Dragon in 2017

Luciano - Not sure what to make of this story.Something seems strange. Can't help feeling this might be a stalling tactic.
If he has signed with the dogs ,obviously wouldn't want it made public before the 20's season is finished, for his own sake & the teams
Gee i hope Iam wrong, just a gut feeling

Nothing of the sort. It is a legal matter that is heading to court early November unless a settlement can be reached beforehand. He will not sign a contract with anyone until this is sorted and he wants to sign with us

If that's the case then that is great news.

It's the first indication of his intention so far.

Thanks JB
