My 8 year old son has been a reluctant Dragons fan since birth. He never was really interested in the NRL until this year. Sure, he's got Ben Hornby's poster on his bedroom wall, and likes to wear Dragons gear to school to hassle one of the Bunnies loving teacher, but he generally didn't watch the games.
Until this year. Watched all of the games on TV (even getting the 5 yr old in as well). Massively excited when mummy bought GF tickets. This season has really cemented his love of the game, and his love of the Dragons.
I'm just so proud. Like many I was worried after the last 3 weeks, but what an awesome show of stength on the eve of the finals. Sure, the naysayers will say the Eels weren't at full strength, but what a resounding win. Hindmarsh's absence didn't make Burt stuff that try.
The best is yet to come, and I hope to join all of you in full voice late one Sunday on the October long weekend singing "When The Saints Go Marching In" watching Ben Hornby hold the trophy aloft.
