The nib Newcastle Knights can confirm backrower Mitch Barnett is set to be sideline for three months, following surgery.

Barnett picked up a nerve injury in his neck during the Club’s Round 2 win over Wests Tigers.

The 25-year-old’s operation was a success, with the two-time Danny Buderus medal winner now committed to completing his rehab program.

Given the current situation of the NRL being suspended indefinitely, Barnett is expected to be available for selection once the competition resumes.

from memory sounds like a similar injury to the Tigers forward some years ago......was forced to retire and the bloke still cant use his arm.
