Mitch Rein and Cameron King

Now that we are 8 rounds into the season hindsight can be a very good thing.

Would anyone now care if Cam King had gone to the knights given Rein's solid form?

Seriously my opinion is he keeps going the way he does, this time next year Rein is challenging Ennis and Farah for an origin spot.

I know Cameron King has heaps of potential and that injury ruined his chance but Rein has taken his opportunity with both hands and not looked back.

I'm very happy with Rein, he going great. There are huge wraps on Cameron King, but I want to see if he can perform at NRL level. I guess King will need to start behind Rein. NOt sure where it leaves Fein for this season if King gets fit and takes his chances.

Rein has been great now for a long time but I am glad we retained King.

Mitch is killing it, but King is a complete player.

Reins defense is sensational though. He's the best hooker we've had in a very long time.

Funny to think back how many here wanted King in the side at all costs when the Knights were supposedly chasing him.

But now that King's signed and Rein is playing the way he is, it's now a matter of what do we do with King?

I believe that if King had've had an uninterrupted run of NRL since the WCC, he'd be right in line for the NSW Origin spot.
Mitch is doing a fantastic job for us, and I'm glad we've locked them both up.
Now - let's get a 7 that they can both play to.

He has been very good but I see him as more on par with your Nathan Brown's and Robbie Farah's than say a Steve Walters or Danny Buderus. He will more than likely be a very handy proposition over a long period of time but I don't think he has the attributes to rise to the top of the representative tree. In saying that, I could be wrong and I hope I am wrong because it will mean he is playing sensational footy for the Red V.

Whether he develops into a great or not is largely irrelevant though, because he is already doing enough to be an asset. I like him.

a good wrap up Breathingfire. He is by all accounts the hardest trainer at the club too, Rambo Rein to his mates. True story.

The good thing is that we have both of them. Most hooker/dummy halfs don't play a full game. So with both of them we have all bases covered.

He can tackle to!

He has picked up some blokes twice size and dumped them on their ass plenty of times!

He's averaging 35 points a game on my dream team:D

Very glad we have king. He is a superstar IMO. Rein has been great. I still believe king is better.
But dummy half is finally an area we are looking good in.

f**king back rowers pricey!! So something!!!!

King is not a superstar yet! He may be going to be one. Rein has the runs on the board, and he is a tough little bugger. In saying that I definitely am not discarding King. I actually can't wait to see him back and contributing to the Mighty Dragons!

Sometimes I believe I'd like to see Rein play a game at halfback just to have a look at the fit.

King can play in a few positions such as 5/8 or back row, plus he's a top goal-kicker. It might be a case of something different that opens up for him when he's fit - you never know what injuries the NRL squad will have & even suspensions can play a part in this.

What have you seen King do to make you say that? Because out of the three first grade games (non trial) I've seen him play (Souths 2010, WCC 2010, and Manly this year) I haven't seen him do anything remotely close to what a 'superstar' has done. I'm not saying he doesn't have the potential to be a superstar, but I'm not sure how you can say he is right now... Unless you are just making outlandish statements for the sake of things.

Nothing has been ruined for Cameron King, we will always need two hookers/dummy halves in the top 17.

Some might be ignoring the importance of depth.

Just stating the obvious here: Young and Fein are at the back end of the careers, Rein and King are the future.

Rein and King are the future.

It would be nice if King could play a bit of lock and then move into Hooker when Rein has a breather (ala Dean Young), because I think it might help our chances of keeping both players at the club over the next decade.

I would assume both would want significant game time and neither one would be content to spend lengthy minutes on the bench. Just a guess, but yeah...

I haven't seen King play lock before but he has some handy ball skills and a decent build so he could potentially offer something in the position.

Maybe with a year or two's training Rein could make a handy lock too, depending on whichever of the two guys is willing the make a sacrifice to the team, If either of them are.

Cant compare them till poor old King actually gets some consistent game-time... im glad we have both so we can see how they pan out over the next 12 months.

Rein is pretty solid, still a lot to prove.
