Roosters are a magnet for quality halves. They have so many quality halves in their system that they have to release some -- like Mitchell Pearce and Connor Watson -- to Newcastle Knights.

For those who might have forgotten already, Lachlan Lam played for PNG against the USA, and Lachlan had a blinder. He looks like the player who will replace Cooper Cronk at the Sydney Roosters at the end of Cooper's 2 year contract.

How does he compare with grandad Terry?

Lachlan Lamb has the right football genes, and he is only going to improve. It will be interesting to see how he goes against the amazing Boas brothers in the battle for a PNG jersey.

The transfer has been complete. Now the heroic Mitchell Pearce will try his hand at Newcastle. He may still win rep honours because of his talent, and the role of Bradley Fittler in NSW selection.

Mitchell Pearce is now no longer at a glamour club. He is with Newcastle Knights. I have no doubt that he will give his best, and will be ably assisted by his former Roosters team mates, Shaun Kenny-Dowell, Aiden Guerra, and the brilliant Connor Watson. Newcastle should greatly improve over 2017 performances with Pearce, the other former Roosters mentioned, plus Kaylin Ponga and Jacob Lillyman in the side

Let's stop picking on him. Give Pearce a chance.

Could turn onto a rep standard half with some decent coaching. Might find a few repeat sets and a field goal not to mention the right option when he has a five man overlap in front of him.

Because they knew Remi Casty was one of the few props in the world who could score a try against the Bulldogs pack when it was needed. And Remi fulfilled club expectations to the hilt.
