It looked like something was going on worth a penalty that's why, we haven't seen a battle like that in a while. But all the replays showed there was nothing against the rules in it. So yeah the refs ruined. Their excuse will probably be they were preventing things getting out of control.

Great to watch though, and it's why I love Laurie, you know he is the Bill Slater of the forwards, exciting and you know somethings gonna happen.

Daine Laurie is a massive thug and an awful defender. He tackles high every single time, or else flops in with the elbow. Grothe was right to give him a massive push, the only shame is that he didn't belt him into the bargain.

When Laurie's not doing that, he's literally jogging towards the attack, not getting involved, then jogging sideways to somewhere else in the defensive line.

a couple of Laurie tackles slipped up around the chin, both were penalised. Fui fired up, then they came to blows a few more times in the game.

What Brandy said? Just think what Tommy Raudonikis would say about the modern game, something along those lines.

What's thuggish about him champ? Nothing wrong with playing with some aggression.. I'd also be putting plenty on Laurie putting MoiMoi down for the count.

I'd rather watch an aggressive Daine Laurie any day of the week instead of a surrender specialist like let's say .. Troy Thompson.

Agreed that none of the tackles were high. In fact, when Moi Moi was penalised, you could hear Laurie telling the ref that there was nothing wrong with the tackle.

It's a shame because aside from the confrontations between Moi Moi and Laurie that game would've been pretty dull for neutral fans. I get the impression that Cummins merely wanted to assert himself on the game.

I am not so sure about that. The tackle on Laurie that Fui got penalised for...Laurie was only jogging into him and definitely came off much better in the hit...then he started to carry him.

Anyway, was a good battle. Real bummer the refs ruined it.

It is true that Laurie is great to watch, but I have to agree he gets real lazy, and falls off a lot of tackles.
