Can't control the lack of power at IRLF level. Bare in mind, the Kiwis play Australia each year with a lot of ESL players unavailable also - so should those matches not be considered test matches.. or is that different to suit your argument?
The Kiwis asked six clubs for one player each - Moi Moi, Roberts, Kidwell, Toopi, Soliola, Eastwood - some of those are not even first graders regularly. I can't see the big issue. Clubs have next to no problem giving up players for State of Origin, and regularly have to give up more than one player each. The ARL doesn't give it support, as its interests are the Australian Rugby League and not international rugby league, so a couple of the club's using the ARL being non committal to the selection process as a fair reason to turn player availability down is highly questionable to say the least.
