Molly Meldrum promoting Rugby League and the Storm

Caught the end of Molly's interview with Nick Lechey on Sunrise this morning.

Seems the first thing Molly did with the Newlywed was take him to the Melbourne Storm game on the weekend. Molly mentioned how he had taken Nick to the game, and then brought out Jake Webster to meet Nick, and present him with a Storm Jersey with a 1 on the back and "Lechey" below the number.

Great to see a Victorian, and a die hard AFL fan, promoting Rugby League and his local team, not only in Melbourne and national TV, but to an international celebrity.

Well done Molly, if more Mexicans were like you, Rugby League would take it's rightful place at the top of Australian football codes! :thumb

*I'm not a fan of Molly, Melbourne Storm or Nick Lechey, this is my disclaimer.

Yeah, I think so too. Still, I'm glad to see him pushing it when he can.

I think he's been there since day one.

Yep he has. He goes to every home game he can and he loves Storm with a passion as much as he loves his St Kilda saints. I've often seen him at Olympic Park getting around in his cowboy hat and Storm jersey. Not a good look

Almost as good as the time molly whacked it up Dennis Fitzgerald (on behalf of the Storm) at the Footy show's Logie coverage.
:D
Don't know if he (Nick) enjoyed the game, i hear his eyesight isn't all that crash (he did divorce Jessica simpson after all  )

i thought he divorced her because she was rooting around.

Maybe he was embarrassed to be seen with someone who 'starred' in what will go down as one of the worse movies ever made.

Ladies, ladies, ladies - leave that crap for your woman's day magazines would you.

That is good work by big moll though, good to see he's not part of the anti-league sentiment in the melbourne media.

Doubt Molly would know the finer points of the game ;-)
Good on him for doing a bit to promote the game down there.

he has been supporting them for AGES now...im sure he knows the game.

And before the Storm he did support the Dragons, so he's no johnny-come-lately.

Last year during the NRL and AFL finals he painted half his fence at home in Storm colours and the other half in St Kilda.
