Alls I heard was we lost both trials but were generally happy with how things went.

Don't want to ring alarm bells yet, but "we lost but are happy" sounds depressingly like our history a bit, doesn't it?

How in the world did we lose the Premier League trial ?
We had Simmons (1 game), Franze (25), Emelio (7), Saleh (41), Aitken (2), Sullivan (18), Newton (4), Gibson (27), Beattie (74), Isemonger (40), Russo (9), Wessel (3), Friend (6), Dallalana (5) and Dumas (6)
That's 268 games worth of first grade experience.

Canberra's top 25 players were away in Coffs Harbour and their only player with some first grade experience was Darren Porter whose played about 3 games.

I know it's only a trial, but we should have won by 40.

Farkkkkkkkk.

Stu, these comments about being happy after the losses are wearing off! Especially after trials!

Beattie and Franze were the only "real" first graders... Canberra won PL last year didn't they?

It's no big deal. Just a hit out for the younger guys and guys like Beattie and Franze to get some matches before the season.

They played Sully at 7.. That shows how serious they took the game ;-)

I couldn't care less. So much depends on how each team approached the trial.

Back in 2001 we lost our only trial to the Panthers, who won the wooden spoon that year. We finished up coming third. Trial form? Who gives a f**k. It means nothing. I'll be guaging how happy I am with the team after we player the Tigers in round one.

I was vaguely hoping the papers would supply that info.. f**k, I don't have spies in every town in NSW ready to send me scores... :p

Why not? It's not good enough!!

Sharks fans are better than anyone else, we shouldn't have to wait...

I think Canberra will go real well this year, top 4 material.

Nah, I think they could struggle, based on waht I saw last night.
Unless of course all the missed tackles, and dropped ball was a sneaky ploy to test their scrambling defence.

From the Canberra Times.

PL - 16-10
Jersey Flegg - 32-16

Both to the Faders as you already know. Scorers not mentioned.
