Moltz going ????

The Tigers Club has made its point about professionalism. We've needed a business orientated approach to the Club. This sends a very good message to our sponsors about how the Club is being handled as well.

Professional or amatuerish? Humphreys came out at the time of the signing and stated to the media that the Tigers had no idea about Moltzen going - this was proven incorrect by the very fact that Sheens and the Tigers players themselves all made comments about how they knew Moltzen was gone. Doust released a statement at the time saying that Saints had communicated with the Tigers earlier in the week about their impending announcement of the signing, as mentioned this was backed up by Sheens and the Tigers players themselves. Everyone knew Moltzen was gone except it seems Humphreys himself.

Since the new hullabalo Doust has released one statement to the media saying that as far as the Dragons are concerned Moltzen is playing with them in 2012 and that neither Moltzen or his manager have communicated any differently. On the other hand Humphreys has done all his talking (again) through the media. How is that professional doing all your talking through the media?

IF and it is only a IF Moltzen does end up at Saints nothing about this will look professional as far as the Tigers go.

Have you actually spoken to Tim? Because that is one thing that none of us at this stage know - what Moltzen actually wants to do and anyway as bad as it is for him, if he didn't want to come to the Dragons then DON'T SIGN A FRIGGIN CONTRACT.

You could be right about how he plays and I have said before it is alot of fuss about at this stage an average player. But as much as he mightn't want to be at Saints why would he want to go back and play at a club that told him to look around as they didn't want him in the first place. And at the end of the day that is the point - The Tigers told him to look around and you only tell a player that when you don't want them.

The coaching staff at the Dragons are not soft C**ks like Sheens.
If Moltzen doesn't perform or play well, he will be playing park footy....simple.
Sheen has a bad habit of playing players who are not willing to play....complicated.
This is the biggest problem at your club.

I have no doubt our player movement could have been handled better than it was, but for those saying Humphries is an amateur, consider:

- We have made more profit with him at the helm than any other CEO.
- We have reputable sponsors, again paying us more money than in the past.
- We have signed two high quality players since Humphries took over (Tuqiri and Blair) and I'd be willing to bet he will make it a hat trick in 2013

Sure some departures could have been handled better but these are minor points at the end of the day. What matters is out stability off the park in terms of dollars and the team we put on the field. Losing average players like Moltzen, rotten apples like Fifita and average club men like Gibbs (as much as I like him as a player), well I certainly won't lose any sleep over these losses.

Easy isn't it for us supporters to 'know' how we would run our respective clubs better. Doust cops alot from Saints supporters and yet clubs like the Tigers and Saints are in alot stronger positions than quite a few other clubs.

I have said before that both the West Tigers and Saint George Illawarra should be applauded for looking at the long term future for all 4 of the clubs in the joint ventures and making the hard decisions to ensure that they survived not just short term but for the long term as well.

I think you're reading between the wrong lines, mate... This probably never even went to the solicitors. Just a case of the Tigers doing right by their player and by the Dragons, but the media jumped onto it because of speculation around Lui's future.

If that was true why did the Tigers cause a fuss at all. Moltzen signed with the Dragons months ago. Its quite obvious that the Tigers changed their mind on Moltzen when Lui decided that he needed to hit his wife. If you think that both the Tigers and Dragons didn't speak with their legal reps in order to find out where they stood in relation to contract law then your being a touch naive.

Thats nice, thats him doing what Im pretty certain he's being handsomely paid to do...his job
I'd say anyone calling him amateur or unproffesional are doing it in these ''moltzen//player - are they going, are they staying?" threads and as such its in reference to these incidents.

As I said, I have no doubt it could have and should have been handled better.

At the end of the day though, what negative impact will it have on the club? Very little. What matters is the $$$ off the field and quality players on it and we have both at the moment.

So bag Humphries for handling player departures poorly, but he's not an amateur. If he was we wouldn't be in such a strong position.

Once next year comes around Moltzen will be forgotten about and we all move on. I'd back Brown or Reddy to do a MUCH better job at fullback.

I agree. Maybe the dragons stand alone might have done well but the tigers and magpies stand alone would be shirt like souths.
