This isn't going to be terribly realistic, it's just going to be fun. It's not going to be deep, involved write-ups. It's going to be bullet form with the occasional piece of commentary.

Basically, I want to book the WWE and TNA in a way that makes them both entertaining. No backstory. No grand plan. Just booking for booking's sake.

Enjoy.

-------------

Things You Can Expect to See

- The in ring returns of Bret Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and The Rock. Who will they face?
- The returns of Booker T, Rob Van Dam, Goldberg, and Jeff Hardy to the squared circle. Which companies will they sign with?
- The last ride of The Ultimate Warrior.
- The reinvention of Samoa Joe.
- The rebirth of The Ministry as Undertaker embarks on his historic final year in the business.
- The retirements of Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, Sting, and Rey Mysterio.
- The death of ECW and the birth of WWE NXT
- Paul Heyman's return to the world of pro wrestling and his ground-breaking new show.
- The return of a head to head Monday Night War
- The prime time debut and rise to fame of many ROH, PWG, and DG:USA alumni
- The return and final death of the nWo
- The death of one major WWE or TNA superstar as the war for supremacy heats up

I said there'd be no back-story. I always burn myself out churning out a several page back-story only to lose all interest in actually booking the shows.

Yeah, I had the same problem when Shaun Hewitt and I teamed up at the start of 2008. I had the first three months absolutely thought out with sign posts going as far as December of that year but after writing the first show I realised how much effort it took just to write the matches I grew intimidated and gave up.

I think this style would work, it'll be interesting to see where you take things.

That's the case, yeah. Couple that with the job hunt, doing my Masters, having a girlfriend who is excited to see the country, and training for a half marathon - and it's not a recipe for a detailed diary.

I've updated the original post with some teasers as to where I'm taking this bad boy. I'm open to suggestions/requests/questions regarding the whole thing from anybody who'd care to participate. Suggested pushes from ROH/the indies, potential storylines, or even stables you'd like to see resurrected are all possibilities.

Hogan Era's First Casualties
As reported by various sources, TNA owner Dixie Carter and the creative team of Hulk Hogan & Eric Bischoff have clashed recently over the direction of the company. Where Dixie Carter is determined that the company make a greater effort to push their 'home grown' talents, Hogan and Bischoff believe that the company needs to focus on its already established talents and Hogan's recent imports.

If today's list of releases from TNA is anything to go by, it looks as if Hogan and Bischoff might have got their way. The following TNA talents were released:
- Daffney
- D'Lo Brown
- Hector Guerrero
- Homicide
- Jeremy Borash
- Jesse Neal
- Kiyoshi
- Raven
- Shark Boy
- Stevie Richards

With so many of Hogan's friends and allies on the TNA roster, it's clear where the balance of power lies in TNA.

WWE Releases
The recent rash of WWE releases continued today with the following workers being wished all the best for their future endeavors.

- Jamie Noble
- Jim Duggan
- Tyler Reks

WWE Swoop for Homicide
Just a few signings. WWE have picked up TNA cast-off, Homicide on a two year deal.

We're kicking this off with the Raw immediately after the Royal Rumble. You'll notice it's quite similar, but there are a few obvious differences along the way

1363934.jpg
- 1 -
The show opens with 2010 Royal Rumble winner Edge making his way out to a huge ovation. The Rated R Superstar talks about how hard he trained to defy the predictions of his doctors and return before Wrestlemania. He talks about how he's missed the last two Wrestlemanias and how he's determined to make up for lost time.

Will he face Undertaker or Sheamus? He won't decide until after Elimination Chamber, but this brings out WWE Champion, Sheamus. The Celtic Warrior talks about how things have changed since Edge was in town, and the two get into one another's faces.

The segment ends after Sheamus attempts a cheap shot. Edge ducks the clumsy blow and lays out the champion with a Spear.

RATING: 92% Edge's new gimmick (Man on a Mission) debuted successfully. Sheamus gained 2 points of overness

- 2 -
John Cena vs. The Big Show - Elimination Chamber Qualifier
John Cena goes over in a surprisingly short match. Show controls things early before Cena's fabled five moves of doom see him getting the job done following the Attitude Adjustment.

WINNER: John Cena by pinfall (Attitude Adjustment)
RATING: 84/92/67

- 3 -
After the commercial, the cameras backstage find Diva Tournament finalist, Gail Kim. She is with recently crowned women's champion, Mickie James when Maryse approaches. Kim's opponent in the tournament final wishes her luck. She tells Kim she'll need all the luck she can get.

RATING: 77%

- 4 -
Bret Hart's limousine arrives and the crowd goes bananas. A triumphant John Cena passes him in the hall and the two shake hands. Hart thanks Cena for speaking out against McMahon and they go their separate ways.

- 5 -
The Miz is out in the ring prior to his Elimination Chamber qualifier. He is in the process of gloating about how his superior popularity has lead to him being in the tournament ahead of MVP.

CAN YOU DIG IT, SUCKA?

The crowd goes nuts as Booker T makes his return to WWE programming, and it looks like he'll be The Miz's opponent for his Elimination Chamber qualifier tonight.

RATING: 91% Booker T gained 2 points of overness. The Miz gained 2 points of overness

- 6 -
Booker T vs. The Miz - Elimination Chamber Qualifier

In a too and fro but not particularly brilliant match, Booker T controls things early before The Miz rakes the eyes and slows things down. He works the crowd brilliantly with taunts and time wasting tactics. Booker T's revival is interrupted when he accidentally clotheslines the ref. The Miz finds a chair and blasts Booker T with it, but this brings out MVP. PLAYMAKER!

The ref comes to just as Booker T gets to his feet and delivers the Axe Kick to win the match.

WINNER: Booker T by pinfall (MVP interference)
RATING: 77/82/68

- 7 -
Backstage after the break, Triple H and Shawn Michaels are warming up for their respective qualifiers. Triple H pretends to be furious about HBK eliminating him from the Rumble, but his DX partner is inconsolable. He wants to face Taker and nobody else.

Triple H tells him he needs to snap out of it and focus on tonight, and then heads off to finish preparing for his bout.

Elsewhere, Shatner is confronted by Santino Marella dressed as a Storm Trooper.

RATING: 84%

- 8 -
Shawn Michaels vs. Cody Rhodes - Elimination Chamber Qualifier

The fans are right behind HBK in this one, and although Rhodes has DiBiase in his corner, it just never looks like it's going to be the Legacy member's night. It's clear HBK's mind is elsewhere, however, as he fails to put things away and instead focuses on hurting his opponent.

Going up top to deliver a flying elbow, HBK is distracted by DiBiase on the apron. Ever the opportunist, Rhodes hits a superplex on the Heart Break Kid and steals a win and his place in the Elimination Chamber.

WINNER: Cody Rhodes by pinfall (Superplex)
RATING: 77/83/66 Shawn Michaels lost 1 point of overness. Cody Rhodes gained 2 points of overness

- 9 -
Triple H vs. Ted DiBiase - Elimination Chamber Qualifier
Returning from the break, Triple H passes a clearly dispassionate Shawn Michaels on the ramp. DiBiase is already in the ring as HBK shoves past his friend.

Fired up and wanting to avenge HBK's loss, Triple H lays a royal beating on DiBiase. While it's not a squash, it's definitely a display of power by Triple H. When Rhodes does try to interfere, he is thrown off the apron. Triple H finishes it with a Pedigree in a fairly one sided match.

WINNER: Triple H by pinfall (Pedigree)
RATING: 81/86/71

- 10 -
Hart is out back interacting with fellow Canadian, William Shatner. Shatner does some weird spoken word song renditions for Hart. Fellow Canadian, Edge, wishes Hart luck in his upcoming confrontation with McMahon.

- 11 -
The Legacy trifecta continues after the break as Randy Orton is out to face Kofi Kingston. The badly beaten DiBiase and the jubilant Rhodes remain at ringside, although neither makes any move to wish their leader luck.

Randy Orton vs. Kofi Kingston - Elimination Chamber Qualifier
Orton and Kingston have plenty of history, and it's a fiery exchange early on as they tie up. Kingston's speed and 'controlled frenzy' (shudder) get him off to a flying start, but a cheap shot gives Orton some momentum.

The end comes with Orton whipping Kingston to the ropes. DiBiase is up on the apron distracting the referee and Rhodes is in the ring with a chair. Kingston slides under the swing, but Orton has his back turned and doesn't see it. He turns around and Rhodes lays him out with a shot to the head. It had to be on purpose! DiBiase didn't see it, and Rhodes acts horrified. Kingston knocks him out of the ring with a dropkick and covers for a shock win.

WINNER: Kofi Kingston by pinfall (cover)
RATING: 80/87/67 Kofi Kingston gained 1 point of overness

- 12 -

Bret Hart is out to the ring to the cheers of the crowd. He talks about how he spent twelve years living in the shadow of the Screwjob, and how he knows what it feels like to be pathetic. He felt pathetic when he was screwed, he felt pathetic in WCW, and he felt pathetic when Vince cheap-shotted him on Raw.

This brings out McMahon, who expresses no remorse. He rescinds his offer to induct Stu Hart and says Hart was and is a nobody. Hart says Vince rode to success on the shoulders of better men than him, and that list includes The Hitman.

McMahon becomes irate and takes a swing at Hart, who catches the Chairman's fist and twists it behind his back. He then lays out Vince with a clothesline and locks in the Sharpshooter.

RATING: 83%

- 13 -

Hart's beat-down of McMahon is drawing cheers when Smackdown's Batista slides into the ring and demolishes him with a clothesline. He lays into Hart with boots as we go off air.

RATING: 81%

---------------------

OVERALL: 82%
BEST: Sheamus introduces himself to Edge and eats a Spear for his troubles
WORST: Maryse wishes Gail Kim luck for next week's match
MOTN: Triple H vs. Ted DiBiase (Quality: 71%)

The show opens with the Chairman of the Board, Mr. McMahon out in the ring to the booing of the crowd. To their surprise, he doesn't dwell on Bret Hart but instead talks about the history of ECW and how he took such delight in killing WCW so many years ago.

He then moves on to say that tonight is an equal pleasure, because tonight is the night he kills ECW. Tonight will be the last night of ECW, and it will soon be replaced by WWE NXT. The ECW title will be defended one last time and then the show's talent will be redistributed.

He finishes up by shouting at the "ECW" chant to shut-up, and saying he'll dance on ECW's grave.

RATING: 84%

- 2 -
Yoshi Tatsu vs. Bryan Danielson

Danielson's making his ECW debut in this one, and there's scattered 'Dragon' and 'Danielson' chants from the indy fans. It's a good, fast paced technical match and the commentary team don't mention the name 'Benoit' - there's definitely similarities.

It finishes up with a tri-fecta German suplex which is followed by the brutal looking Cattle Mutiliation (redubbed as a 'Beast Tamer').

After the bell, Danielson helps Tatsu to his feet and offers his hand. Tatsu accepts and the two are cheered.

WINNER: Bryan Danielson by submission (Beast Tamer)
RATING: 66/56/77

- 3 -

Christian is backstage with Tiffany, who seems to have been relegated to an interviewer role with the dissolution of ECW. Christian cuts a typically good, witty promo about beating Jackson tonight and being the last ever ECW Champion. It's a passionate one talking about the greats - guys like Taz, Raven, Sandman, Guerrero etc.

He finishes it off saying that he'll be on Smackdown this week to welcome his brother back to the roster, and he'll be doing it knowing he was the final ECW Champ.

RATING: 93% Christian gained 3 points of overness

- 4 -

Croft, Berretta, and Shelton Benjamin vs. Goldust, Hurricane Helms, and Zack Ryder

This is a thrown together match and it shows. Berretta and Croft still look green, but Shelton is at his acrobatic best as he carries the majority of the match. Helms seems motivated in spite of his recent dramas with the law.

The end comes when Benjamin catches Goldust with Pay Dirt.

WINNERS: Shelton Benjamin, Caylen Croft, and Trent Berretta by pinfall (Pay Dirt on Goldust)
RATING: 64/61/68

- 5 -
Christian (c) vs. Ezekiel for the ECW Championship

The final match in ECW history kicks off with the two old enemies tying up. Jackson's superior strength really tells early on, and the two make an improvement on their recent match at the Royal Rumble. Jackson seems super motivated.

Christian's experience begins to tell as the match wears towards its 15th minute, and it makes it no further. As he attempts to hit the Killswitch, Christian is hit with the brass knucks by Regal in a blatant attack. The match ends in a DQ and Christian will be the last ever ECW Champion.

WINNER: Christian by DQ (Regal interference)
RATING: 77/78/75

- 6 -
Regal and Ezekiel are beating the champion down as the bell rings and security officials rush out to fix the situation. The crowds boos turn to cheers, however, as a familiar face is spotted in the stands. The Sandman is there with his Singapore cane and a can of beer, and he's on his way out.

Regal and Ezekiel look ready for a fight, but then the cawing of ravens is heard and another familiar face stands on the ramp. It's Raven and he's got a kendo stick on hand and does his best to look intimidating despite his weight.

Jackson and Regal stand back to back as the ECW alumni approach, but then the lights go out. When they come back up, Sabu is in the ring with a chair. Christian is also on his feet.

Regal slides out of the ring and rushes up the ramp, but he's caught with the Raven Effect on the ramp. Ezekiel eats a chairshot from Sabu and then staggers into a hard cane from Sandman. He staggers back and eats Killswitch.

The Originals and Christian stand tall on the last ever episode of ECW!

RATING: 79% Ezekiel gained 1 point of overness

------------

OVERALL: 74%
BEST: Christian explains why he wants to be the final ECW Champion
WORST: Croft, Beretta, and Shelton Benjamin vs. Goldust, Hurricane Helms, and Zack Ryder
MOTN: Bryan Danielson vs. Yoshi Tatsu (Match Quality: 77%)

In other news, Maryse has suffered a badly dislocated shoulder and will be sidelined for two months. No word yet on who will replace her in the Diva's Championship final against Gail Kim next Monday

The Hart Dynasty vs. Jimmy Wang Yang & Slam Master J

Superstars kicks off with a fast paced, surprisingly competitive match between these two teams. Despite their awful gimmicks, Yang and Slam Master have a great chemistry and get the crowd pumped with some aerial brilliance. Kidd pitches in with some of his own, whilst Hart Smith's power game proves the difference.

After laying out Yang on the side with a big elbow, the Hart Dynasty combine to hit the Hart Attack for the 1-2-3.

WINNERS: The Hart Dynasty by pinfall (Heart Attack on Slam Master J)
RATING: 72/64/81

- 2-

As the Hart Dynasty celebrate, a video is played highlighting the attack on Bret Hart by Batista on Monday Night Raw. It is a typically epic production, emphasizing Hart's history and Batista's monstrous strength.

The Hart Dynasty watch on with anger in their eyes.

RATING: 85%

- 3 -
Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Matt Hardy

These two have a great chemistry, and Superstars again delivers a quality match as the cocky young Intercontinental Champion is given a real trial by the veteran Hardy. Hardy looks like winning it on several occasions, particularly after laying out McIntyre with the Side Effect - but a schoolboy roll-up seals the 1-2-3 for the defending champion.

WINNER: Drew McIntyre by pinfall (Schoolboy)
RATING: 72/74/70

- 4 -

Another hype video is played, this time for Edge's return and his confrontation with Sheamus on Monday. Also included in the video package is Christian's promise to visit his brother on Smackdown this Sunday.

RATING: 91% Christian gained 1 point of overness

- 5 -
R-Truth vs. The Miz

It's a Raw/Smackdown cross-over as the United States champion takes on the rising star of Smackdown, R-Truth. There's no gold on the line in this one.

The crowd are at fever pitch for this one, their hatred of The Miz and their love of the rapping R-Truth really lifting the rafters. R-Truth gets through all of his trademark stuff in this one, but it's a low blow and a handful of tights that seals a win for the US champion.

WINNER: The Miz by pinfall (Low blow)
RATING: 77/79/74

- 6 -
Michelle McCool vs. Beth Phoenix vs. Serena Deeb vs. Natalya Neidhart to decide an opponent for Gail Kim in the Diva Championship Tournament

In light of Maryse's unexpected injury on Monday Night Raw, this match has been thrown together to decide an opponent for Gail Kim in the tournament decider. It will take place under elimination rules.

The four Smackdown divas square off, and Beth Phoenix is the fan favorite after her participation in the Royal Rumble. The first eliminated from the bout is the Straight Edge Societies' Serena, who is caught with a big boot from McCool - who is clearly pumped up after dropping her Women's Championship on Sunday.

Neidhart's elimination comes a few minutes later, but the Hart Dynasty member acquits herself well with a near fall on Phoenix before being caught with a Glam Slam for the 1-2-3.

It's down to the two Amazonian women in this one, and the fans have warmed more and more to Phoenix. They get the result they desire, Phoenix ducking another big boot and nailing the Beth Valley Driver (Samoan Driver) for the 1-2-3.

WINNER: Beth Phoenix by pinfall (Beth Valley Driver)
RATING: 63/65/60

---------------

OVERALL: 69%
BEST: Hype for Edge's return and reunion with Christian
WORST: Beth Phoenix vs. Michelle McCool vs. Natalya Neidhart vs. Serena Deeb
MOTN: The Hart Dynasty vs. Slam Master J & Jimmy Wang Yang (Match Quality: 81%)

In dire news for TNA, rumored 8 Card Stud tournament winner, Hernandez has been sidelined with a broken hand

Here's the list of qualifiers for the 8 Card Stud tournament so far:
Desmond Wolfe (defeated Sean Morley)
Hernandez (defeated Daniels, but now injured)

tna-impact-logo.jpg

- 1 -

The show opens with an irate Kurt Angle out in the ring. He wants to talk to Hogan, and he wants to talk to him now. He's furious about being attacked by The Band last week, especially right after Hogan and he had seemingly buried the hatchet. He has a match in the Eight Card Stud tournament tonight and he dares The Band to get involved in his business. He dares them, because if they do - he's going to end their careers and then he's going to go after Hogan.

This, of course, brings out the Hulkster. He claims he is hurt by Angle's accusations. He swears he isn't affiliated with The Band and will do all he can to ensure they're kept out of the building tonight.

Angle calls bullsh*t, and tells Hogan to stay out of his way if he doesn't want his ankle broken.

RATING: 92%

- 2 -
The Motor City Machine Guns vs. The Nasty Boys

The crowd aren't so hot for this one, but the Nasty Boys make a decent effort to keep up with their much younger, faster opposition. The two young bucks don't make a huge effort to sell the veteran teams' offence, and the match doesn't get an ending when Team 3-D hit the ring.

The decorated tag team lay out Jerry Sags with 3-D to end the match by DQ, but it doesn't end there. Beer Money hit the ring as well, and they make a beeline for 3-D. Storm puts down Devon with Last Call, and Roode treats Ray to a Northern Lariat. Knobs is treated to stereo superkicks from MCMG and the TNA originals stand tall over the veterans!

WINNERS: The Nasty Boys by DQ (Team 3-D interference)
RATING: 68/64/73

- 3 -

We return from the break to find Eric Bischoff out in the ring, and he's calling out Mick Foley. Last week the two were told to get along or get out by Hogan, but thus far they haven't reached any kind of peace. Bischoff praises himself and belittles Foley before calling the Hardcore Legend out.

Foley cuts a promo talking about Bischoff's many failings in the past, and how seeing him in charge of TNA is like catching another man with his wife. He hates Bischoff and would like nothing more to quit, but he knows Eric wouldn't be above firing his good friends, Abyss & Jeremy Borash if that were to happen.

Eric asks if Foley has seen Borash today, and tells him maybe he should check the unemployment office. Foley rushes the ring in rage, but Bischoff holds up a contract he claims belongs to Abyss. He says Foley had better co-operate or he's going to be ending his career and Abyss' as well.

An angry but beaten Foley is forced to put his enmity aside and retreat back up the ramp. Bischoff gloats.

RATING: 86%

- 4 -
Doug Williams (c) vs. Amazing Red for the X-Division Title

Brutus Magnus and Rob Terry are ringside for this one, and Terry's wearing the Global Championship he won on TNA's European tour last week. The big man seems to have calmed down a bit now that he's got some gold, leaving only Brutus Magnus without something around his waste.

This is a better match than their last, brief outing. Red plays the underdog to perfection, but the influence of British Invasion at ringside is hard to ignore. After having his foot snagged and wasting time yelling at Magnus, Red is caught from behind with a hard release German suplex for the 1-2-3.

WINNER: Doug Williams by pinfall (German Suplex)
RATING: 69/63/75

- 5 -
Kurt Angle vs. Brian Kendrick in an Eight Card Stud qualifier

We're back from the break and Angle is scanning the crowd for signs of The Band as Kendrick smugly makes his way down to the ring.

Despite the calibre of guys in this match, they just don't click. It's fast paced and there's some enjoyable stuff, but the chemistry isn't there. Angle looks to have things firmly in control when he spots Scott Hall posing as a cameraman at ringside. He tosses Kendrick into the turnbuckle and goes after Hall, who bails out and flees up the ramp.

Behind Angle, Waltman slides a chair into the ring and tells Kendrick to use it. When Angle slides back into the ring, Kendrick lifts it up and the ref rushes to stop him. While he's busy, Waltman knocks Angle down with an X-Factor and rolls under the ring. Kendrick pushes the ref aside and covers for the 1-2-3.

WINNER: Brian Kendrick by pinfall (Sean Waltman interference)
RATING: 76/80/69 Brian Kendrick gained 1 point of overness

- 6 -
Back from the break, we find Ric Flair and AJ Styles partying backstage with some beautiful bitches. After being warned that the holiday was over last week, the two are discussing the Eight Card Stud tournament and laughing at the young guys who are involved. Flair assures Styles, he can beat any of them.

RATING: 91% AJ Styles gained 2 points of overness

- 7 -
Mr. Anderson vs. Matt Morgan in an 8 Card Stud qualifier

After announcing himself, Anderson looks less than impressed when his opponent is revealed to be the Blueprint. This match is to find out who replaces Hernandez in the tournament after his injury on the European tour.

These two have a really good chemistry, and while it's not a technical classic, it's the best match of the night so far. Morgan's power game is offset nicely by Anderson's cowardly, cerebral approach to things. The match ends with Anderson eats a Carbon Footprint.

WINNER: Matt Morgan by pinfall (Carbon Footprint)
RATING: 78/79/78

- 8 -

Backstage after the break, an irate Mr. Anderson is complaining about how unfair the tournament draw was when he bumps into the Black Pope, D'Angelo Dinero. The charismatic former WWE star cuts a typically Rock like promo in which he mocks Anderson's announcing and tells him to watch how it's done as he seeks to qualify in a match tonight.

Anderson attempts to rebut, but Pope throws up a hand. "FACE"

RATING: 75%

- 9 -
D'Angelo Dinero vs. Tomko

It's Tomko's in ring return here, and he's up against the clear crowd favorite - Dinero. These two have a great chemistry as well, and where Tomko is all about power, Dinero is able to go toe to toe courtesy of his history as a boxer.

It's too and fro stuff, but we don't get the outcome we'd like because Anderson is out to rebut against Pope's pre match comments. He slides into the ring and blasts Dinero with a chair for the DQ. Dinero's qualified for the tournament, but he doesn't look like celebrating.

Tomko's clearly not happy with Anderson's involvement, though. He feeds Anderson a running big boot for his troubles.

WINNER: D'Angelo Dinero by DQ (Mr. Anderson interference)
RATING: 72/69/75

- 10 -

After we return from the break, Hulk Hogan is out in the ring to a loud, but mixed reaction. He's not out here to address the continued attacks on Kurt Angle - he's out here to talk about the champion and his unhealthy new alignment with The Nature Boy. He's sick and tired of the TNA Champion acting like a spoiled rock-star, and he's going to solve the problem right now.

AJ Styles is going to defend his title, and he's going to defend it against a man who deserves a title shot. He says Eric Bischoff may have a problem with Abyss, but Hogan doesn't. Hogan has a lot of respect for him - and he's going to give him his chance to shine.

It's a generic promo, but it's delivered with real passion. The fans are left chanting for Abyss and their stance on Hogan seems to have softened as well.

RATING: 100%

- 11 -
AJ Styles (c) vs. Abyss for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship

There's electricity for this one, as a clearly reluctant Styles steps into the ring with the monster that is Abyss. The fans are right behind the insane freak, especially after his recent treatment by Bischoff.

Flair is at ringside and he's doing his part to rile up the crowd.

Right off the bat, it's clear Styles wants none of this. He continually bails out of the ring, ducks behind the referee, and adopts similarly cowardly tactics. It can't last forever though, and soon Abyss gets his hands on the champion and a thoroughly crowd pleasing beating ensues.

Styles isn't champion for nothing, though, and after hitting a Pele - he begins to control things. He shows a decidedly mean streak as he delivers hard chops before hitting a few of his trademark moves.

Abyss battles back but Flair's out to distract the referee. Abyss goes to the outside and drags Flair into the ring, and the fans are going bananas.

Styles is to his feet and has the title in hand, but Samoa Joe is in the ring. He catches the champion with a running shoulder block that sends him to the outside. Meanwhile, Abyss whips Flair to the ropes... BLACK HOLE SLAM.

Abyss and Joe stand tall, but Joe attacks Abyss from behind. COQUINA CLUTCH! Joe's laid out the champion and the challenger, and the show ends with him standing tall and scowling at the crowd.

WINNER: No Contest (Samoa Joe interference)
RATING: 78/80/74

OVERALL: 80%

Friday Night Smackdown kicks off with 'The Animal' Batista making his way out to the ring. Striker and Grisham discuss Batista's role in events on Monday, and it's these events that have brought Batista out to the ring.

He talks smugly about how he put a so-called legend in his place, and about how he was sick and tired of hearing a washed up has-been talk about the past when Batista was the future. He said that Vince deserved respect, and if Bret wasn't going to give it, then Batista was going to beat it out of him.

This brings out Edge to a big reaction, and the Canadian superstar doesn't look happy. He asks Batista if he feels tough after beating up a man who hasn't laced up the boots in over a decade? He doesn't blame Batista for not respecting Bret Hart. After all - Batista was still juicing up at body-building contests when Bret Hart last wrestled.

But there's an entire generation of talented performers who can trace their success to Bret Hart. He rattles off a list including Chris Jericho, Christian, and himself amongst others. He talks about Hart being the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be. And when Batista retires, he'll be just another big, dumb ox who did Vince's dirty work for him.

RATING: 85%

Rey Mysterio vs. Kane in an Elimination Chamber Qualifier

We return from commercial as the Big Red Machine stalks out to the ring, and he's soon joined by fan favorite, Rey Mysterio. These two are facing off to decide who will be participant #2 in the Elimination Chamber alongside Undertaker.

These guys have fought before, and they have a good chemistry as the smaller man is monstered only to rally with some plucky offence. Rey picks up the 1-2-3 and his place in the title match after the 619 and the West Coast Pop.

WINNER: Rey Mysterio by pinfall (West Coast Pop)
RATING: 73/75/69

Backstage after the match, Christian is lacing up his boots in the dressing room. Matt Striker reveals that Christian has been drafted to Smackdown with the death of ECW. The fans are certainly happy about that.

Edge enters the room and the two brothers embrace. Christian welcomes Edge back and congratulates him on winning the Rumble. Edge congratulates Christian on being the last ever ECW champion and wishes him luck. Tonight Christian has an Elimination Chamber qualifier against Drew McIntyre!

After the commercial, a clearly excited Rey Mysterio is walking through the halls backstage when he is interrupted by CM Punk, Serena, and Luke Gallows. The Straight Edge Society give sarcastic applause.

Punk wants to warn Mysterio that he doesn't trust him. He wants to know what Rey is hiding behind that mask. He comments on Rey's friendship with a known drug addict, and says only the Straight Edge Society can save him.

Rey gets a cheap pop by saying Punk wouldn't be fit to lace Eddie Guerrero's boots, and says he hopes Punk gets into the Elimination Chamber so he can kick his ass.

Christian vs. Drew McIntyre in an Elimination Chamber qualifier

The fans are firmly behind Christian in this one, but it's the Intercontinental Champion who controls things early - following up from his impressive Royal Rumble showing.

In a twelve minute match both guys get near falls, but it ends when Christian ducks underneath a clumsy clothesline attempt and nails the Killswitch for the 1-2-3.

WINNER: Christian by pinfall (Killswitch)

Right before we go to commercial, a limousine pulls up. Teddy Long is out there to meet it, and it's the Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels who steps out. He welcomes Shawn to Smackdown and says he'd better get ready.

COMMERCIAL

After the break, HBK is in a dressing room strapping up when Bret Hart enters. HBK looks cautious, but Hart assures him he's not here to make trouble for him. He's here to wish Shawn luck, and to have a few words with the man who assaulted him on Raw.

CM Punk vs. John Morrison in an Elimination Chamber Qualifier

This, right here, is an early match of the year candidate. These two have remarkable chemistry, and although it's just under ten minutes long - this match has the fans on their feet from start to finish. Gallows and Serena get involved, Morrison goes close when he hits Starship Pain, but he's eventually caught with the GTS.

WINNER: CM Punk by pinfall (GTS)
RATING: 92/86/98

We're backstage with Gene Okerlund, who gets a decent pop as he chases down the Phenom backstage. Undertaker has been watching tonight's qualifiers and he comments briefly on them and on Shawn Michaels' pathetic attempts to chase him down.

After the interview is done, the cameras spot a robed figure lurking in the shadows. The hood hides most of his facial features, but a wicked grin is clear on his face. Who could it be?

RATING: 90% The mysterious figure gained 1 point of overness

R-Truth vs. Chris Jericho in an Elimination Chamber qualifier

The crowd is red hot for this match between a fan favorite and one of the WWE's most hated. Despite the obvious talents of both men involved, there's something missing in this good but unremarkable match. Jericho books his place in the EC after hitting the Codebreaker out of nowhere.

WINNER: Chris Jericho by pinfall (Codebreaker)
RATING: 85/90/74

Shawn Michaels vs. Batista in an Elimination Chamber qualifier

Batista is not impressed when he hears HBK's music hit, and he charges the Showstopper before he's even had a chance to get to his feet after entering the ring. Batista dominates the early going against the stunned Raw superstar, but in true HBK style, he manages to battle back heroically.

He's tuning up the band and looking to seal victory when Batista catches his leg, spins him around, and plants him with a brutal Batista Bomb. He goes through his thumbs up/thumbs down schtick while the referee checks on HBK.

But Bret Hart is in the ring. He blasts Batista with a chair! The referee turns around, sees Hart holding the chair, and nods in approval! He's clearly a Hart fan! HBK climbs over to cover for the 1-2-3! He'll get a shot at Undertaker after all!

WINNER: Shawn Michaels by pinfall (Bret Hart interference)
RATING: 80/84/72

While HBK celebrates his way up the ramp, Batista is back to his feet. He sends Hart crashing to the mat with a vicious shot to the back and begins to stamp on the WWE Hall of Famer. HBK is running back to the ring when Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith slide into the ring from behind Batista. HBK's in and he stares down Batista while the Hart Dynasty get into position... HART ATTACK on Batista!

The two lay him out and help Bret to his feet. The four men celebrate in the ring as the show ends.

RATING: 71% Bret Hart lost 2 points of overness. Batista lost 4 points of overness. Tyson Kidd gained 5 points of overness. David Hart gained 4 points of overness

Awesome, good to see you're still persisting with your BTB Marlins.

I'll give you my thoughts for each specific show.

Raw
Very similar to last week's episode which certainly isn't a bad thing. For my personal taste I wish the EC match would be booked better - I hate that wrestlers have to qualify for a match that could potentiall shorten their careers. EC should be about 6 men who hate each other so much that they're willing to take it to the most hellacious match in wrestling. Never the less that's just my view.

Booker returning is a nice surprise but personally I always thought of him as one of those wrestlers in the 'Edge' crowd where they can be carried to good matches and my interest can wane in them severely. However if you can use him right I can only see him as a positive.

ECW
Pretty average show up until the end which was an awesome surprise. I probably wouldn't of bothered with that 6 man tag, and Danielson debuting on the last ECW show seems a little odd but then again it's ECW.

Superstars
What's this? A watchable episode of Superstars? Good job Mis. No complaints.

Impact:
Good booking all-round. I can't really find a single fault with it. For once a TNA show that runs smoothly and doesn't try and come off as WCW 2000. Well done.

Smackdown:
Was a much better show than Raw, although I had to laugh at the Batista/HBK finish, not that it was bad, just that it was comical - well done, I remember when the E was generally that entertaining and had that human element to it. Must say, the SD EC match looks awesome and I can't wait to see where you'll go now that you've gotten all these qualifications matches out of the way.

All in all, the first week is always generally hard but you've handled the job fairly well. Maybe taken a few liberties here and there (ECW still had 3 shows remaining) but all in all you captured the spirit of both companies and somehow presented them even better. Kudos.

Raw opens up with the crowd going crazy as Bret 'The Hitman' Hart makes his way out. Hart made a big splash on Smackdown last week when he helped his old enemy, Shawn Michaels to his place in the Elimination Chamber.

He's out here to say that he's not sorry for what he did to Batista. Batista attacked him like a coward, and Bret evened the score by costing him his chance at the title. He considers them even.

But Vince McMahon is out now, and he disagrees. He says all Bret Hart did was remind everybody what a petty old man he is. Batista's going to get his chance tonight, and he's going to get it against a man who has been disrespecting him of late - John Cena.

Hart asks if McMahon really wants to make an enemy of his meal ticket, and this infuriates the chairman. He says he doesn't need Cena like he didn't need Hart. And since Hart has proven himself to be a liability, he's not going to be allowed to stay and watch Batista's triumph.

Security escorts Bret Hart out of the arena.

After the break, the fans pop as former ECW star, Shelton Benjamin makes his return to Raw. He gets in the ring and gets on the mike. He says he had a great time honing his craft in ECW, and now he's going to show everybody what he's learned by beating whoever steps out.

I THINK I'M CUTE... I KNOW I'M SEXY...

The fans go crazy as Shawn Michaels, his mood clearly improved by his victory on Smackdown, makes his way out for the match.

Shawn Michaels vs. Shelton Benjamin

These two have met before and we know what they're capable of. While this doesn't quite match the efforts of their match in the Gold Rush Tournament, the clash is still a great one and it gets the crowd going from the get go.

It's anybody's match as HBK does a good job of putting Benjamin over, but things go awry when HBK goes to the outside and Shelton follows him with a plancha. As the two men pick themselves up, the mysterious robed figure from Smackdown leaps the barrier and blasts Shelton Benjamin with a brutal looking reverse DVD. A stunned HBK watches on as the referee is forced to call for the DQ.

WINNER: Shelton Benjamin by DQ (Masked man interference)
RATING: 85/82/89

The commentary team are still discussing the mysterious attacker when we return from the break. Last week he was seen stalking the Undertaker, and now he's helping HBK. The speculation continues as the competitors for the next match emerge.

Cody Rhodes vs. MVP
Rhodes scored a career making victory when he qualified for Money in the Bank last week, whilst the perennial US Title contender has plenty to prove against the Legacy member.

If you can believe it, these two put on a real show. It's on par with its predecessor, and both guys show they're more than capable of working a good match when given time. Rhodes looks in control and is even getting some babyface reactions as the match winds on, but soon MVP rallies and is looking good to win when he's caught with Cross Rhodes.

Randy Orton is in the ring! The Legacy leader hits MVP with an RKO in a blatant attack, costing his team-mate the match. He doesn't stick around to help Rhodes up, and looks like he's happy to have cost Rhodes the match.

Rhodes does not look happy.

WINNER: MVP by DQ (Randy Orton interference)
RATING: 83/78/89

Before we go to break, the fans cheer as Edge makes an appearance backstage. He's got a match tonight against Jack Swagger - his first bout since returning from injury and winning the Royal Rumble.

As he's strapping up, the WWE Champion, Sheamus stops by to 'wish him luck' as sarcastically as possible. Edge says he'd like nothing more than to kick Sheamus' ass and win the title - but he doubts the Scotsman will still be champion after Elimination Chamber.

RATING: 83% Edge lost 2 points of overness

We're back from the break and the fans lose their sh*t as we cut to the DX locker room. Triple H is messing around with Hornswoggle when a bemused HBK enters. Triple H and Hornswoggle get serious as Triple H asks what's going on. Who was the mysterious guy? Is HBK recruiting new members to DX behind his back? Is Chyna back?

HBK isn't amused. He says he doesn't know what's going on, but he intends to find out.

The final of the Diva's Championship tournament is up next, as Raw's Gail Kim takes on Smackdown's, Beth Phoenix.

Gail Kim vs. Beth Phoenix for the Diva's Title

These two are amongst the best female workers in the business, and they put on one of the best WWE women's matches fans have seen since Trish Stratus and Lita left the company. It's a brawling affair interspersed with some aerial stuff from Kim - who reaches for the stars, but crashes and burns when she's caught in the Glam Slam. Phoenix wins!

WINNER: Beth Phoenix by pinfall (Glam Slam)
RATING: 75/77/73

John Cena is backstage with Josh Matthews. He insults him Rock style, and then comments on Batista and Mr. McMahon. He says Batista is playing with fire tonight. He says McMahon's words have poured fuel on the fire, but it's the Animal who's going to get burned.

Booker T & Kofi Kingston vs. Show Miz
The US Champion and his colossal friend control this early, but one can't write off the pluckiness of Kingston or the wealth of experience Booker T brings to the match. The two EC participants battle their way back into things and ultimately triumph - Kingston pinning Big Show after Booker T laid him out with an Ax Kick.

WINNERS: Booker T & Kofi Kingston by pinfall (Ax Kick)
RATING: 81/85/73

We return from the break as Jack Swagger makes his way out to the ring. He's got the honor of being Edge's first opponent in his latest run.

He gets on the mike and reminds us all that while Edge spent the last six months sitting on his couch and watching the wrestling, he was out winning championships and honing his craft. He's going to give Edge a lesson in wrestling tonight.

Edge vs. Jack Swagger

This one is short, but it's not a complete burial. Swagger ambushes Edge as he slides into the ring and controls things early, but the Rated R Superstar soon battles back and ends it all with the Spear after Swagger pulled up short of accidentally taking out the ref. A short match, but one that allowed Swagger to lose after making a rookie mistake.

WINNER: Edge by pinfall (Spear)
RATING: 85/86/86

Before we cut to commercial, the cameras find Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes. There are murmurs of dissent as Rhodes complains about Orton's attitude in the last week. DiBiase agrees, but in a non-committal way.

Orton enters and he's not happy to find his men whispering. He wants them to know that if they even think about screwing him, he'll end their careers like he ended so many others. DiBiase is quick to fall in line, but Rhodes waits a moment longer before denying he'd done anything wrong.

Real tension there. Rhodes looked like he was struggling to control his dissatisfaction, DiBiase looked conflicted, and Orton played the jerk to perfection.

RATING: 94%

Batista vs. John Cena in an Elimination Chamber Qualifier

The commentary team remind us that Batista will take Cena's place if he wins tonight. Before the match can start, Mr. McMahon is out to announce that he'll be acting as special guest referee.

This is a match that has fans rabid with anticipation, and they're firmly behind Cena after Batista's recent antics. It's too and fro and pretty enjoyable (if not a little slow) - but Cena finds it tough when McMahon continually slow counts and calls for breaks on legitimate holds.

The tension builds and eventually it's too much for Cena - who 'accidentally' collects McMahon with a clothesline. The fans love it, but it turns sour when Batista spins Cena around and plants him with the Batista bomb.

Someone's headed down the ramp... it's Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith. The fans aren't quite sure what to make of it.

Batista catches Kidd with a brutal lariat as he enters the ring, but Smith is able to tackle him. There's no wrestling moves on display - Smith just lays in with angry punches that have Batista stunned. He manages to get to his feet and whips Hart to the ropes - SPINEBUSTER!

Kidd's up on the turnbuckle and leaps off for what might have been a crossbody, but Batista catches him. FALLAWAY SLAM!

He turns around and looks psyched up, but Hart-Smith is up on his feet and plants Batista with a running powerslam. Cena's up now, and he hauls Batista to his feet... ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT.

Vince still isn't up, but a replacement ref is in the ring to count it. 1-2-3.

WINNER: John Cena by pinfall (Attitude Adjustment)
RATING: 87/96/68

BEST: Orton confronts Rhodes
WORST: Beth Phoenix vs. Gail Kim
MOTN: Shawn Michaels vs. Shelton Benjamin

Mysterious robed figures giving reverse DDTs..who could it be..hmmmm ;-)

Cool episode of Raw. Booker needs to cut promos on the show though. Booker T = Promo gold.

Oh, and you should sign Steiner. I'd seriously dig a Big Poppa Pump run in the modern day WWE. Sure I give him sh*t for his TNA stuff, but just think of the fueds he could have, that would actually deliver! Steiner/Jericho?

A new era for the WWE kicks off as the first ever edition of WWE NXT kicks off. Your commentary team is Josh Matthews and a new employee, Mike Johnson.

But it's not a new face that's out first this evening, it's William Regal alongside his big offsider, Ezekiel. The fans aren't at all happy with this development.

Regal says he's glad that the barbaric legacy of ECW has finally come to an end, but he thinks the WWE have made a big mistake in basing an entire show around the youth. He insults today's youth and declares them a bunch of layabouts and idiots with no respect for the business. In fact, he's got a young layabout coming out right now for a match.

But before that, he wants to announce that in the absence of a person worthy of his respect, he's declaring himself to be the General Manager of NXT. If anybody has a problem with that, apparently they'll be answering to Ezekiel.

RATING: 82%

Yoshi Tatsu vs. William Regal

Regal's young opponent is the plucky Japanese superstar, and he brings the fight to Regal immediately. His speed catches the veteran unawares, but Regal's wily ways allow him to battle back and, eventually, finish off the match with a Knee Trembler to prove his point about today's youth.

RESULT: William Regal by pinfall (Knee Trembler)
RATING: 70/64/76

After we return from the break, we have Goldust and Gregory Helms on their way down to the ring. The makeshift tag team cut a quick promo about the exciting new direction things are going, and how they are looking forward to testing the next generation of superstars. Well, Helms says that - most of what Goldust says is pseudo gay innuendo.

It's all interrupted by the first debut of the NXT generation, with a cocky young pairing appearing at the head of the ramp. It's indy darlings, Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black.

They say that they came to the WWE to face the best and the brightest, and instead they get Dusty Rhodes' less talented offspring and a criminal.

RATING: 74% Jimmy Jacobs gained 2 points of overness

Goldust & Gregory Helms vs. The Age of Agony

This is a great match that showcases the talents of the former ROH tag team wonderfully. Helms is also right at home here, and Goldust does his best to keep up. The face tag team struggle with their lack of unity, and that ultimately proves telling - God's Last Gift ends it when Goldust is stranded after Helms was charged off of the apron.

WINNERS: The Age of Agony by pinfall (Tyler Black, God's Last Gift)
RATING: 73/67/79

Ezekiel vs. Bryan Danielson

The last match of the evening pitches the NXT enforcer, Ezekiel against last week's debutant, Danielson - who looked very good in his victory.

The two have some fantastic, old school chemistry - Danielson adapting his usually grounded style for a more knock 'em down, drag 'em out brawl. He can't quite go toe to toe with the bigger man, but he's got the tenacity of a Hardcore Holly or Steve Blackman going on - albeit with more style.

He twice almost locks in his finisher, but Ezekiel battles out. Frustrated, the bigger man eventually lays out Danielson with a brutal chair shot to end the match.

WINNER: Bryan Danielson by DQ (chair shot)
RATING: 70/56/84

- 6 -

In the aftermath of Danielson's 'win', he finds himself being assaulted by Ezekiel and William Regal, who isn't showing any signs of being a fair general manager.

As they're beating down the promising new talent, the lights go out. When they come up, the pair are surrounded by the trio of Raven, Sandman, and Sabu. Ezekiel is quick to brutally lay out Sandman with a lariat, but Regal finds himself being double teamed by Sabu and Raven.

He's put down with an Evenflow DDT, and Ezekiel whips Raven to the ropes and puts him down with the Book of Ezekiel. He and Sabu square off, but Danielson's up and he locks in a triangle choke to put the big man down!

The show ends with Danielson staggering to his feet and finding himself surrounded by ECW alumni. There's an awkward tension as he rolls out of the ring and backs up the ramp.

RATING: 77% Ezekiel gained 1 point of overness

OVERALL: 71%
BEST: Regal announces himself as the man in charge of NXT
WORST: William Regal vs. Yoshi Tatsu
