"It's another sign the ARL/NRL are trying to keep this WC as small an event as possible."

thats its reality, when you cant pack out your own games in sydney vs the really only 2 countries struggling for 25k. Not a piss take but realistic.

When anything in LU needs your input, it's time to shut the doors.

Why don't you concentrate on getting a 17k average at Club Rugby or ANY FTA S12/14 coverage in Australia before you comment on the superior codes.

HAHA Superior Code
IF that was so you wouldn't have to result to sarcastic remarks to a very good point, logical?.
Top intl teams struggle 25 000 at the home of rugby league.

Whats club rugby got to do with it or FTA Super12/14 it just shows that your ignoring the evidence. Not only, this is about "internationals" something which has relevance towards my point about ROOS vs KIWIS.

Your just looking stupid in front of your own league fans.

No he doesn't. League, in the not too distant past, got the kind of crowds RU int'ls get today. Those days will return soon, my friend....

Remember the 28,000 in Sydney was for a match that was supposed to be a slaughter against a team that the press repeatedly reminded Sydney-siders, hadn't won in their city since 1959.

Let's see the May 5 attendance, and if the NZers win again, the crowds for the Tri Nations will be superb.

Kinda ironic for the top3 teams in INTL league. It's a reason but it is no credible excuse. I am sure NZ will win again even the tomahawks, the way the Kangaroos play.

only 2 years left, don't see it happening that quick. Good luck

Why the hell did you move my post admin?

Is it cause you didn't want to ruin your game's image?

Therefore decide to make my posts look out of context when they are in reply. Pathetic

I split your thread hijacking off from the thread you were trying to ruin - and moved it to the section where threads like this are more acceptable.

The main international forum is for discussion of INTERNATIONAL RUGBY LEAGUE - other stuff either belongs here - or nowhere if i had my way.

Recent attendances at league internationals:

England vs France 3000
Tonga vs Samoa 2500
Wales vs Scotland 1176
Wales vs Ireland 80

Yes, 80, folks. Let us see the May 5 attendance indeed. And then let us pray.:)

That's still more than the usual 3 dogs and a blind man at Sydney Club union games. Still, it's good to know that the professional game in Australia, sorry, in the 2 states of Australia that the game is played is less popular than amateur Rugby overseas.

Its called Progress actually, as slow as it might seem.

Ireland v Wales wouldnt even have been played some years back. Lik ei have said before Rah Rah's, we are not insecure like yourselves. We know we have a lot of hard work to do to get the International Game where we want it, but we ARE getting there.

Now did you see what i did, i Answered your Question, Now yet again, do you want to do the same on the France thread??????????

Woodsy,

Three years ago those fixtures you list, which are now part of an annual tournament, didn't exist. Now they do. You work out whether that's progress or not......

In 2006 there's a semi pro Welsh club beneath the national side that now plays multiple matches annually. Beneath it a Welsh league whihc had 6 clubs in 2005 but may have 10 in 2006 (read RLW article on Wales, interview with Crusaders CEO Chris O'Callaghan).

Speak to the Welsh dev officers who recount that now teenage Welsh rugby prospects are starting to choose their preference because they see a tangible pathway for them as leaguies.

Supporting the weaker technical and physical product as you do certainly has its psychological drawbacks. Your insecurities abound......

You really have a problem with league don't you little man.

It must really annoy the tripe out of your small brain that rugby league is more dominant rugby code where you live.

All i can say is deal with it because things are never going to change.

Rugby League is the superior code. It's hardly my fault that people with lesser intelligence like yourself don't agree.

Union's top club sides in this country struggle to get 4 figure crowds, yet our clubs have a combined average of 17,000 and an aggregate of over 3 million.

Unions aggregate crowds for 2005, including every Union match possibly has a 3 in it, but it won't be in 6 figures....

You do the math, Union is so far behind League in Australia it's embarrassing when you try to defend it's position, especially considering that in 2003, Union was at it's peak and from there on it has spluttered to the point where it's looking over it's shoulder at Soccer.

rugbynotsoccer said:

Plenty.

Super12/14 is Union's premier competition in this country, if not the Southern hemisphere yet it lags behind the NRL in everything but crowd average in this country. And the only reason it leads crowd average is because there's only about 23 matches per year against the NRL's 189 matches.

It has no FTA in Australia, gets slaughtered by the NRL on payTV and boasts a season crowd aggregate in Australia of about 490,000. State of Origin, 3 matches had 187,000 on its own in 2005.

Embarrassing.

This isn't about what you want to make it about.

Union is struggling in Australia and worldwide is a blip.

League isn't struggling in Australia and no one has said that League is an International powerhouse.

It's your constant barking and sniping about Union's superiority as an International sport that makes you look foolish. In relative terms, Union is nothing as an International sport.

Hang on do you not think you have a privalage to keep posting shi*te.

If we posted the same crap on a union message board we would be banned.

Maybe thats the BIG difference we DO NOT FEAR THE OTHER CODE.

League is all about honesty and openess, knowing our position in the world and BUILDING ON IT.
Union is all about telling the people who want to listen what a great product you have.
Sorry mate but we have the product and we have the future.
In the long run HONESTY always wins.
Now no more bullsh*t.

Yanto,

Name one league supporter who has been banned from a rugby union forum? Or to put it another way, why don't you come onto Planet Rugby and try to get yourself banned for saying anything you like against rugby union, and for rugby league?

As for "honesty", tell me about rugby league in Singapore?

Unlike you and your weird little mates, RL fans couldn't be bothered going to a Union forum and starting bitch fights. Unlike you and your weird little mates, we couldn't give a crap about Union. Unlike you and your weird little game,we haven't peaked yet. And unlike you, we are not weird little people.
Are you nervous about the growth and enthusiasm in RL?
Go take a dump you guys, you need to clear your mind.
