I was sitting near this idiot who was constantly bagging the players and even running down to the fence to do so a few times. I got so sick of it after coming back up from the fence i gave him a absolute gobful and embarrassed him in front of his girlfriend/wife. So called fan.

It's not nice to give a bloke an absolute gobful and embarrass him like that. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Good on you mate. This grubby coward obviously knows players aren't going to jump the fence and come after him, that's where his 'courage' comes from. Every club has them.

Related to the topic of idiot fans but not so much concerning what the original post describes;

A middle-aged lady fell over some steps a couple of rows in front of us. Naturally, everyone around was looking at her to see if she was alright. After a minute or so, most people had stopped looking as she was getting help from what appeared to be her family.

A teenage girl with the lady looked up at everyone and started hurling some very colorful language concerning us supposedly staring at the lady.
I recall that she said something along the lines of "if any of you f***ing merkins (edit; it's actually the c word she used but LU seems to auto-correct that word even when the letters are substituted) keep staring at us, I'll f***ing beat you. Haven't you ever seen someone fall over before!?"

The lady was soon helped up by one of the fans in the area, and medical staff and security soon came to the scene.

Seriously......it might not sound like much but why would you abuse all the people around you with such language not only when they are obviously concerned for your companion but also considering there are multitudes of children within earshot of you?
The mind boggles truly......

Anyone else see that happen? I can understand you don't want people staring at someone after they've had an accident, but abusive language is intolerable in public places.

On the topic itself, I hope the fan felt every bit of shame that I bleed blue and gold gave him keenly. To abuse any player is repulsive, to say it to one such as Hindy and your own club captain is pathetic.

Once you keep going to games more often Boxy you'll see all kinds of colourful characters like that. Souths always bring some interesting fans along, as do the Bulldogs. It's something you get used to over time. Don't be surprised if you witness something similar at the next game you attend.

Fair enough Eels Dude, I really wasn't expecting it to be honest.

Funnily enough, given my dad's previous role at the Sharks I've actually been to more games at Toyota Stadium than I have anywhere else, and I never once saw any fans hurling abusive language at fellow fans or players.
It might have just been I wasn't paying attention though.

Yeah I think it also comes down to where you choose to sit also. I get GA tickets most of the time so am behind the goalposts and there's always some colourful characters there. If you stand on the hill at at Penrith Stadium you're pretty much guarenteed every time to witness a punch up break out between people and police escorting someone out.

That's the best part about going to Penrith, watching the punch up!

There's the problem.

Females and teenagers can't handle their piss. Combine the two and you've got an obnoxious merkin waiting to happen.
