i think a lot of non-Raiders like Matt Elliott, because of his seemingly light-hearted attitude and his press conference one-liners. i dare say that all of his 7 votes were from Raiders fans. i heard Sterlo, and one of the major league magazines, say that he "says it like it is, he calls a spade a spade" - :lol: well, Raiders fans at least know that this isn't true. he's a cockeyed optimist. that's why he persists with losers like Thompson and Bulgarelli - he really believes they'll come good :lol: :?

What is there law that says coaches have to smile or show emotion.

look at stuart for a media carve up, when his boys arnt up to scratch he makes sure thats what they read about in the papers over the next few days. and it works, they fire up and normally play well the following week, elliot should try it some time

I went Smith but Stuart was close. Both are arrogant, it's always somebody else's fault their teams lost or didn't play well or whatever. Stuart is pulling the right strings and has the authority to speak at the moment.

If we were voting for worst coach, Kemp and Hasler would fight it out for mine, with Kemp getting my vote as he has the cattle to get better results, I don't think Hasler does.

He is not some johhny come lately like a Ricky Stuart, Langmack, Elliott, Brown etc who sit on the sidelines and rant and rave instructions.
Bennett has been a coach in the top league since 1987 and has seen it all.
I like coaches that sit there with the poker Face. Folkes is another poker face coach and i like that style.

dont know about Gould, in recent times he has shown alot of emotion on the sidelines with his origin exploits.
I like watching a coach get angry...makes me laugh. But, coaches that sit there stoney faced have alot more cred in me eyes.

Gould lost it when he wanted to advertise SOO last year...but back in his day he was....less Rooster/Fairfax influence.

Bennett though was great when the Broncs won GP against Melbourne......Gould walking up the tunnel was very funny but felt like bashing him cus it was my state

Illawarra Steelers coach, turned them into a Successful team(or a more competitive club at least) before deciding to sign with News and try to recruit from the ARL alligned club during the SL war, behind the clubs back of course. Still, he's an excellent coach, just dont like him.
