Messages

1. Luke Patten
2. Amos Roberts (has been the roosters best consistently all season)
3. Adam Mogg
4. Dean Collis (how he didnt make the train-on squad is beyond me)
5. Steve Turner
6. Daniel Holdsworth
7. Jeremy Smith
8. Josh Cordoba
9. Aaron Payne
10. Peter Cusack
11. Ben Creagh (doesnt really get the recognition he deserves)
12. David Faalogo (how it took the selectors this long to play him in the nz team is beyond me)
13. Dean Young (great player)

14. Steve Southern
15. Sam Thaiday (he is probably the best young prop going around, you dont really hear too much praise of this young kid though, he gets over-looked as a great player alot because he is playing with webcke and civoniceva(two of the best props in the comp)
16. Reni Maitua
17. Cameron Ciraldo

opinions ???

agree/disagree

Most of your backs arent underrated at all.

Patten and Roberts are regarded very highyly, Mogg played SOO this year, as did Thaiday.

I'd Quinn deserves a wing spot. Maybe Hornby over Matuia.

A. Tupou should be in there

yeah, i agree, the spotlight has been off him, because of the roosters poor form this year

but the kid has loads of talent, i hope the roosters go well in 2007, for the sake of anthonys rep career to really take-off

i know everyone rates patten, but in the state of rep honours, he really should of been picked for some rep matches, and on several occasions, he has been in better form, than mini and hornby, around origin time

same with roberts, its beyond me that he hasnt played origin

Quinn i agree with as well

in a way, i think tounge is a bit over-rated, everyone is regarding him as a great player because he can tackle, he needs to develop the rest of his game, his attack can be pretty flat, but his defence can be rather solid

EDIT: But i can see how he is under-rated as well, he is a better player than alot of people see him to be

but i respect his work-rate this year, and he is coming along nicely for rep honours

the more established players like patten and roberts, i decide on they are under-rated because they have had time to be selected for rep teams, and they have deserved to be selected

the younger blokes like tounge for example, tounge hasnt really stepped up a notch until this year, and i think he needs to take his form into next year, to decide whether he is consistent over two seasons, not just one, like alot of players like sutton (until late this year, before he got injured) and tim smith have shown us

Creagh has played for Australia and gets reps all over the place for his ability and for what he has shown on the paddock.

Wade mckinnon should grab the fullback spot

I think Justin Smith should be somewere in the side as well as laffranchi

Luck, Mannering and Ropati (no one rates him!) are honourable mentions from the Warriors, especially Michael Luck

Southern isn't that good, he can put on a couple of big hits each game but aside from that he doesn't offer much.

Personally i think you lose the "underrated tag" once you get recognition or represent your state (City V Country doesnt count). In saying that, my most underrated team would be:

1. McKinnon (Patten just behind him)
2. Steve Turner
3. Dean Collis
4. Phil Graham
5. Brett Morris
6. Daniel Holdsworth
7. Cooper Cronk (Whilst he did when HB of the year, i think he is stil underrated)
8. Luke Douglas
9. Aaron Payne
10. Lance Thompson
11. Anthony Lafranci
12. Reni Matuia
13. Alan Tongue
