Movers

While we are waiting for the new season to start I thought I'd open up a new thread to get views on who will be the big movers this season (Wests Tigers excluded).

My feeling is this year the Bulldogs will come good. Maybe not good enough to win but I think this year they will be solid and a real test for most clubs. I think the Hassler factor will be good for them as he seems to get the best out of his teams. Certainly in their first year under him.

I think the other factor will be James Graham. They lacked a bit of go forward last year and I think this guy will make up for that. Also think Ben Barba is a freak at sniffing out a try.

Just my thoughts any one else have a comment....

Dogs will remain very average, but Hasler will have them better than they were last season. They have terrible halves.

I think the Cowboys are smokies.

only Cowboys and Sharks look to me like big improvers next season, plenty of clubs on the slide though - Dragons, Broncos, Manly, Penrith

I seriously considered the Sharks as well. Very good forward pack but I just thought the outside backs were a bit light on...Have some minor doubts about Flanagan as well.

Time will tell though. Be interesting to visit this thread again in October.

The knights will show some improvement this year and like the Dogs i think they will be building for 2013 when they buy the players they need in key positions. The Sharks although not a premiership title force i believe will be a very competitive side and a top 8 finnisher,im looking forward to watching what Fifita and Gibbs can add to their club.

Sharks haven't really had any decent outside backs for a decade.

The wingers look to be young, fast and keen, but the slow old defensive centres will be the teams weak point..

Flanagan has Peter Louis helping him this year I believe, so that will help him a fair bit.

I seriously though don't see the Sharks making the 8, but they will go very close indeed.

Cowboys for me are going to be the team to nudge a grand final berth alongside Melbourne.

If we can cover Gibbs loss early enough, then we should be a strong contender for the GF as well.

But its a big loss to cover. I have a strong feeling that the decision to let him go could be the worst decision this club has ever made regarding players.

" I have a strong feeling that the decision to let him go could be the worst decision this club has ever made regarding players" 100% agree

On paper means nothing, really every team in the comp has a fair chance of giving it a shake. Maybe Penrith and Canberra might struggle, but the rest are all in with a show. It comes down to luck, get a good run from the men in pink, get a good run from the injury god and have some luck with the draw and you are in with a massive chance.Souths and the Sharks are my big movers and Iam not jumping over the moon about our chances, where I see us as top eight, Iam not convinced we are a better side than 2011
