For sheer and complete fingernail removing boredom, nothing beats The Blair Witch project, most lamest and overated piece of crap ever made in celluloid history.
A good scary witch movie was The Ring, creepy bitch shudder.

I've only ever really seen one "horror" movie, ive seen afew scary movies that weren't exaclty horror movies.
anway when i was 9 on christmas eve i was at my cousins and he put on scream  . It was the first (and last) movie like that I've ever seen, I was totally scarred for life haha I couldn't bring myself to watch it again. I was 9, I should have been watching some really gay family christmas movie, but instead i watched that.

Haha, I take it you're aware of the similarities between that 'movie' and the recent marriage between the chick from Tasmania (the news calls her 'our Mary') and that Danish prince?

What is it with the USA and not being able to tell a story without Americanising it. 'Lord of the Flies' done with American students. 'The Prince and Me' just steals an Australian story and makes it American. 'League of Extraordinary Gentlemen' added Tom Sawyer and Dorian Grey just to placate the Americans.

Damn them. Damn them all.

ummm.. They are americans so why wouldnt they make americanised movies? Why arent you complaining that the australian film industry makes australianised films?

It is simple, America is where the money is and americans wont go and see a movie that they cant understand due to a cultural gap.

Just on the australian film industry.. Why do they persist in making pathetic movies? The castle is probably the only good aussie movie in the past decade. Instead of wasting the entire budget on a heap of lame movies why dont they use it all for one movie and actually make it good?

You're either intentionally ignoring quality Australian movies, or you haven't seen many, CH.

What about 'The Tracker', 'Thunderstruck', 'Muriel's Wedding', and 'Dirty Deeds', to name a few?

There's a difference between making an American film, and raping a perfectly good novel or concept by forcing American crap into it. 'Lord of the Flies' has proven, both as a book and in Peter Weir's adaptation to film, that it has no trouble capturing an audience's imagination. The fact that a US production needed to include American students in it (and flopped miserably) is stupid. While the Mary Donaldson rip-off is modeately understandable (who, outside Australia and Denmark, actually gives a shit?)- but ruining a classic novel or (in the case of League) graphic novel is just a bit too far.
