Yeah but it worked didn't it. He was smart to avoid giving Echols many shots at him and made sure that when they got close that he would tag him once or twice and then back off. Brilliant boxing if you ask me. Mundine came up with a tactic that totally nullified Echols style. Worked like a charm. Mundine would be very happy camper right now.

Echols could not land a clean punch on Mundine whereas Mundine used his jab and his right and left hook perfectly closing Echols left eye.

For anyone who wants to know the score card was 117-112, 117-112, 115-114

congrats chock, i knew you would get the better of echoles, echoles went in way too cocky, chock went in as cool as a cucumber(wow thats a first), but anyone who dislikes mundine has to give credit where its due, sure he may of been a bit of a moron at times, but jeese, he is now the world champ, deep down i have always wanted munding to win, dont know why i just did, i am just happy that he has what he always wanted.

Good on him (and his team) for using their heads to nullify the physical threat of Echols.

But he'll have to come up with something else against any future opponents, because now they'll be prepared to chase him round and knock him flying....

They'd be correct. Ottke fought Mitchell and Ottke won so he became the IBF/WBA champion. Now the WBA calls anyone who holds two belts a 'super' champion and makes a 'world' champion below that.

Kostya Tszyu is a WBA 'super' champion as is Bernhard Hopkins and Antonio Tarver in their respective weight divisions.

There's 3 main belts being the WBA, WBC and IBF.

Tszyu, Hopkins and Tarver hold 3 belts.

The champs in Mundine's division are Ottke (IBF and WBA) and Beyer (WBC)

The WBA have only had this bullshit super champion crap for about two years.
