Mundine gets to Daley

Mundine's a great athlete, but his fights are boring and Daley & Fittler were better, more complete players.

It was exciting watching him play league, but it's boring watching him jab some can for 12 rounds for a unanimous decision.

Wow.

I could feel my IQ dropping as I read through this thread.

I've watched a bit of MMA this year, it's really growing on me.

That 37 second fight between Fedor and Tim Sylvia was great fun.

You get to see a lot of the Melbourne grapple tactics when they get on the mat.

Definitely had Mundine doing his best to thump up a bit of support. Get his names in lights after his recent boxing win. Make sure we haven't forgotten about him and all his brothers. Wow no wonder Daley was jacked off. Mundine things he can brainstorm but then he doesn't know what he is going on about himself. Just keeps talking with no sense coming out of its gob.

Whats more perplexing is that people think racism isnt a massive issue in Australia.

People who say they want to see Mundine knocked out have some issues and of course they'll be the last to admit why it is they just plain cant like an aboriginal with confidence. Its because he has a big mouth...... Of course it is. How dare he say he's good.

Ive been in pubs all around Sydney watching his fights and Ive heard it all.

I watched in Caringbah with Shannon Taylor sitting two tables away hammered drunk and yelling

"Smash that f*cking coon dog" and "knock the black merkins head off"

But of course, all the ones on here are perfectly unbiased and see both sides of the argument. Gimme a break.

You want credibility, maybe go out and see what Mundine does in his spare time so you can have reasonable knowledge of what you're on about. You might just see how much he helps others, charities, schools. You just read the telegraph and off you go.

I think Paul Gallen's a merkin, is it because he's white? Or is it only racism if you think an Aboriginal bloke is a dickhead? You're the only one making racial claims here

I won't even bother to explain to a numpty like yourself.

As someone who's had experience in both sports, I reckon it's you who's missing the point here.

Sure, boxing is physically demanding, nobody would dispute that. But the luxury Mundine has as a boxer that he never had as a league player is the ability to pick his opponents and, boy, has he been selective about who she shares a ring with!

Since quitting league, Mundine has duped the Aussie public by fighting blokes who, on the whole, have been older, smaller and less talented than him (Lester Ellis was a 37 yr old ex featherweight champ from the 80s who hadn't fought in six years - way to pick em tough guy!).

In league, there are no hiding places, if someone bigger, tougher and stronger comes running your way, you'd better man up or prepared to get steamrolled.

Mundine the boxer is basically a flat-track bully. The only times he has ever stepped up in class against overseas opponents (I'll give him his dues for beating Danny Green and Soliman in the rematch - the first fight was a gift job).

FFS, he even got knocked out by Sven Ottke and that bloke couldn't punch the skin off a rice pudding (six kayos in 34 wins!).

Sure, boxing is a really tough sport, but there are plenty of shortcuts for blokes like Mundine to make a quick buck without genuinely having to test themselves.

oh lozza:oops:

keep shining that wonderful trophy cabinet of yours, while Mundine makes real $$$ in the most competitive sport ever....

just remember lozza, you also ran for the $$$ in 1997 and when Channel 9 came calling....:roll:

I can't argue that Mundine has probably made a few $ in boxing but he's a paper champion who has'nt fought anyone of note or form!

He's a sham and a grub!

On "The Mans":lol: best day and Calzaghi's worst, Joe would'nt have to fight above 2nd gear to blow him away.

He's a scumbag user with a huge chip on his shoulder and he's badly advised and influenced Williams in order to score a point for himself.

If he had any dignity at all he'd be ashamed of himself.

far out so much to get through in this thread

umm thoughts on sonny bill... chased the money nothing else to be said, just seems he is looking for excuses. for mine i don't know why he bothers. he is in France and no one here will care soon enough. its not like he is in our face in union in oz.

umm daley.... 2nd only to God in my opinion but im a raiders supporter so i may be bias.

Mundine is a waste and has become a pretty massive joke in the boxing world. check out the east side boxing forums if you think otherwise. even his biggest fans are sick of the crap he's dealing up. talks big names and then fights bums... he has been knocked over by no ones crazy kim and nishydishwasher and beaten by some of the best.

his best wins are against soliman and green and imo green came o9ut and didnt fight anywhere near his best but in saying that ill give mundine credit as he beat what was in front of him.

onto boxing vs ufc ive been lucky enough to have some experience in both although ill admit im completley a beginner at BJJ. I still love both sports but imo UFC is superior and still building its rep. The other thing about the UFC is the best fight the best caus dana white owns the whole thing and makes it happen. Boxing is just way to much politics missmatches and dodgy calls which really hurts a great sport.

I wonder what Choc will say about Loz being named in the Indiginenous Team of the Century at No6. The race card wont wash with those selectors I reckon.

Why is he having a go at SBW?

Daley took the ca$h crica Super League. He was the figurehead for the breakaway News ltd competition!

Laurie Daley & SBW are two peas in a pod.

Wow what a terrible understanding of Rugby League you have!!!

Laurie Daley like most players in that era took the cash on offer. However Laurie Daley:

1. Played his entire career for the one club and at times knocked back bigger money to stay a Raider

2. Didn't walk out on his team mates when they were going like Busteds!

3. Was loyal to mates and to the fans

4. Is an icon and a legend, who played consistently at the highest level and was a true leader at the club.

There that will do for starters. Maybe you are getting confused with Jamie Lyon and Laurie Daley.
