dunno about you weirdos, but these are two things i really enjoy..

and i imagine most kids at some point look up to sports stars & music stars and dream about themselves doing the same thing one day..

so thought i'd throw it out there - given the choice and the chance, would you rather be a famous musician or a famous sports star, and why?

Musician.... I'm a much better guitar player than sporting person.

Sportspersons have a limited shelf life, especially contact sports and those that are physically demanding. Golf immediately comes to mind as the notable exception.

Meanwhile, we still have dinosaur musicians that are into their 70s such as Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger, etc. who are still performing.

It all comes down to passion for your craft. I suppose that I would rather be a famous musician rather than a famous sports star but musicians have a tendency for a shorter lifespan due to their lifestyle. Compared to musicians, not that many sportspersons top themselves due to substance abuse and silly acts.

Sports Star.

Was the only thing I wanted to do growing up. Never really wanted to learn an instrument until I gave bass guitar a go when I was 16.

Tough one. Generalising a bit, musicians get to travel a lot more while sportsmen are in good shape physically.

I'd probably go the latter seeing as I am very competitive.

Musician. Mick Jagger still could bang hot 20 year olds. Mick Cronin not so much.

It doesn't count if you have to pay for it BF. A concept I imagine you are unfamiliar with.

Musician. They actually have a skill that makes a difference. Sports people play a game and influence very few lives with their work.

Plus if you get caught with drugs as a sportsman and you party really hard it's like the end of the world, for a musician it's expected.

Much more fun being a musician.

Is a professional wrestler a sportsman? Then that.

Tell that to Todd Carney. I'm pretty sure he directly caused at least 8 suicides.
