MusicMax 90s weekend

Has anyone been watching it lately? I started watching it a couple weeks ago thought it quite interesting.

They're doing countdowns in each year in the 90s, two weeks ago they did 1990-91, last saturday was 1992 and sunday was 1993. Today was 1994 and tomorrow is 1995, and so forth you get the idea. And also other category's like best albums, best groups at night.

But there's at least 3 things I can think of that are wrong:

* There are songs in these countdowns that I've never even heard of, that rate higher than popular. It's like they went back in time and recorded those songs, or was I not interested in music back then
* Sometimes a song would appear twice in the same weekend, or it'll appear in two different countdowns. Weren't there enough songs back then?
*Finally some of the good songs back then didnt even get a mention

Also that mercado guy keeps popping up everywhere repeating the same things.

I think I could come up with a better 90s countdown. Still it has been good.

I stopped watching it out of disgust when they had some random Hootie and the Blowfish song above Lightning Crashes in one of the countdowns. Still flick it over occaisonally to have a look at whats on.

Lightning Crashes would probably be in tomorrow's countdown. I remember Throwing Copper was huge in 1995.

  Radiohead, I only like one of their songs.

Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Pearl Jam, Green Day, I wouldve been happy if one of those got it, but not Radiohead.

And today I watched the countdown again, how many times did they play Madonna and Bon Jovi songs. #-o

How radiohead could be voted band of the 90's is beyond me. They had one hit, which the band openly dispises, and the vast majority of their music is way too alternative for the general population who isnt consuming copious amounts of pot.

I find it very hard to believe that the Peppers didnt get it, or possibly Nirvana for their work up to 94. (quality over quantity, they only had 4 years but still made more great songs then 99% of the bands that will get a mention)

Makes sense though - Keep the Faith was HUGE in the early 90's

anyways Radiohead for band of the 90's sounds ok to me ;-)

Keep the Faith and Blaze of Glory were good songs in the 90s, but I didnt see them anywhere in the countdown.

nah I'd guess it would have been out of bed of roses, sleep when I'm dead and always (I didn't see the countdown)

not the best songs but they all spent a fair bit of time in the charts
