My take on last night

Crockers hit was no different to Hopoates. Both come in with the elbow cocked, and struck the player in the head. Both had the same result. Knock the player out cold. So why is it Hopoate was sent off and Crocker not. We probably still would have lost, Melbourne was the better team. But you just never know. It was a match turner. A few minutes later Crocker ran over our replacement fullback and scored. A tackle Stewart would have made. I just dont understand how an act like that can lead to our best player going off, but not the player who was responsible for it. We didnt even get a penalty. Adrian Morely was sent off for a tackle which was much the same as last nights, against souths. Its an absolute joke. Melbourne came out with intention to take out Stewart last night. In the first half he ws hit high a few times and eye gouched. Not to mention that Slater also got him high in the tackle in which he was knocked out. There had to be at least a penalty. I mean, congratulations to Melbourne, they were the better side. But you just never know if it hadnt been for some completely grub play on their behalf. Melbourne may have won the premiership last night, but I and many lost so much respect for them in the tactics which they used to win it.

You're an idiot.

Look at the photo and the elbow was nowhere near it all.

You didn't get a penalty because it was reviewed by the man upstairs, discussed by the match officials and allowed to go.

If you think for one minute you would've won WITH Stewart... nup. Just accept defeat champ ;-)

Facts are your friends.
Morley was not sent off for his hit on Ben Walker round 1 2006.

As for the rest, blah blah blah.
Go and follow Soccer.

Jason King was a thug there. He practically leapt forward as if he was on the Matrix. I was shocked no penalty was given for leading with the knees.

I was at the game, and only saw a glimpse of it on the screen to be honest, and if he did I wouldnt be. But then again, Johnson didnt end up knocked out did he. Its fitting that most of the Storm come from QLD, f**king grubs!

You are wrong. Crocker's hit was hard but legit.

Melbourne are much better than the Manly mob.

I have lost no respect for Melbourne, they won by pure class of their brilliant players. Class that the Manly team can't equal.

Archer had one of his better games.

A Manly fan whinging about refereeing decisions in a GF is a bit rich. You've had your fair share of favourable ref decisions in semis in the past.

Oh you mean like the 7th try tackle. Or the massive forward pass? Yes sure that was fair in 1995. And then again 1997 we were beated on the clock by a bunch of proven druggos. We were beat last night. And I accept that. But the way we lost, im pissed off.

Kingy does tend to raise the knee when hitting it up, Stewart taken out would not have changed the outcome of the game, he had no attacking opportunities behind a sloppy forward pack last night. My dissappointments came into the Manly #7 and #9.

Matt 'Awful' Orford was absolutely out played by Cronk last night. No direction and bullet passing like crazy. He is what most people suspected and knew about him, and that he was not a big match winner.

And one of Manlys danger men in Monaghan, didnt even turn up!!Focused more in running into players trying to milk a penalty instead of moving the ball around and try to get some forward momentum. Carved up well and truly by Cameron Smith, who was awesome.

Thankyou.

Finally the photographic evidence.

Bloody hard hit - but it was legal.

Can you imagine being Brett Stewart when he took that?

He's one bloody courageous bloke.

Even though that picture clearly shows Crocker didn't have his elbow cocked and that it was a completely legit tackle?

Most other fullbacks would of let that bell bounce bounce.

Only guys like Stewy, Slater, Hunt, Mini and Robertson(hes not a great players, but f**k he has balls) would of taken that hit for the team.

Full credit to Stewart though,Slater would have taken that ball too if it had come to his end of the park. He and Slater are known to defuse bombs week in week out, both have pretty good records too.
